Owning a Mosin is like the puberty stage of being a gun owner. And it's cool at first, like when you first discover how to bust a nut on your own. And you're paying to put lipstick on a pig when you could instead buy something modern for the same price as all that bling that will shoot accurately without nearly as much hassle. A buddy has one that has all the bling. Archangel stock, gunsmith-installed turned down bolt handle, muzzle brake, Timney trigger, etc. And it still wouldn't do better than a 4-5" group at 100y.

They're taking orders at the CMP again. Service Grade is the best value/$ imo, but that's honestly pretty arbitrary if you just want it to shoot for fun, since the cheaper Field Grade ones function just fine. I expect you could flip it at a gun show for $500+ profit, especially in a year or however long it's going to take the CMP to sell out this time.
