lol if your reaction to this season has been "I can't believe they cancelled this!" and not "No wonder they cancelled this". I mean I'm glad this crazy-rear end show exists, but I am surprised it got as many seasons as it did.

I'd have liked it to have gone further and more extreme, but if half of the fans in this thread weep in the pretentiousness of it all I doubt we'll see anything like this this decade, for television anyway. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOTt4lUdK9A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_yia2nqt6U https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBdthTC3w-I Oh well. Really dug the last episode, from Hannibal staggering back from a rave to 'transubstantiation' to Will getting a saw to the head. I'd forgotten how exciting the show can be, but when I think to its stronger episodes, like the girl who thought she was dead or the season 2 finale, I remember how it can make me react rather than just sitting there watching some nonsense. Although the show is a bit of nonsense, it's a good kind. Ever since the second episode of the first season the show has been quite strange and never really made any hint at being 'Sherlock but if he was bad'. Although it could just be that, I'd say the show is more towards Lynch than Moffat.

I can't even remember what happened to Freddie Lounds in seasons past(she's still alive, right?), but is there any word whether or not we'll get to see that part of the Red Dragon story?
|

She's alive and they already used his/her death in Red Dragon as a fakeout. Freddie Lounds had better survive everything and I'm very disappointed there's been no sign of her this season. Tuxedo Catfish fucked around with this message at 21:22 on Jul 13, 2015 |

God drat it. edit quote:The scripted series will air from 9 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, flipping timeslots with the net’s popular “Dateline Saturday Mystery” crime franchise. Last week, the first-year Charles Manson-themed drama “Aquarius” and third-year “Hannibal” both delivered tiny 0.4 ratings in adults 18-49, while “Dateline” did double that (0.8) on Saturday. quote:NBC's 'Aquarius' Renewed for Second Season k

Holy poo poo, that's ice cold, NBC. So rude.

That sucks. I don't understand why they'd do that to Aquarius right after renewing it though?

Hey, maybe the lead into SNL will revive ratings!

H.P. Shivcraft posted:My hunch, given the way the plots are getting jumbled from the books, is thus: Tuxedo Catfish posted:That would be awful, and would make me feel like an idiot for ever defending the show. You know, instead of doing the conclusion of that arc in the book (Clarice and Hannibal live it up in Argentina), they could do the beginning of it (Hannibal is holding Clarice captive and drugging/brainwashing her). I mean, a version of that basically already happened in season one, but now the relationship is way different and Will is aware of everything, and also we've seen Miriam so we know how effective Hannibal can be at brainwashing. And actually, since that plot in the book included extended conversations with dead people, that would give them the excuse to bring back basically any character they wanted from the whole run of the show, which Fuller would obviously have a field day with. showbiz_liz fucked around with this message at 00:55 on Jul 14, 2015 |

You're dumb and wrong, but it should be pointed out Bryan Fuller had nothing to do with Dead Like Me after the first five episodes. Side note: how weird was it that the network that brought us Queer as Folk had a problem with the dad being gay on Dead Like Me?

So while Hannibal starts cutting open Will's head, we get this image:![]() I'm not sure what I'm looking at, but my guess is that the sky is the dome inside Will's head, and the red stripe across the sky is the cut that Hannibal is making to get in. ![]() Kind of like the end of the 1990 Total Recall, where the camera stares at the sun in the sky, and people interpreted it as the drill that the doctors were using to give Quaid a lobotomy Steve Yun fucked around with this message at 07:27 on Jul 14, 2015 |
