I imagined Margot donating to the prison significantly enough that Hannibal would get a decent cell as a thank you. It's the kind of thing people do in the show. Cannibal construction worker. Pharmacist who grows mushrooms on coma patients. Teenager stabs neighbour. Overbearing mother. Man who turns criminals with flaming heads into angels. Eddie Izzard. Organ thief. A luthier who makes cellos out of people. Totem pole made of people. Rotting girl hiding under bed. Eddie Izzard. Girl explodes by combing her hair. Will goes to prison. Farmer makes a giant eye made of people. Farmer is put in the middle of eye. Nurse puts a man on a deer head, cuts off his ear and blows him up. Bees. Nurse crucifies psychiatrist. A tree made of a person. Chilton goes to prison and is shot in the head. Social worker is put inside a horse. Museum assistant wears mechanised skeleton. Museum assistant jumps through window. Dead person is set on fire strapped to a wheelchair and rolled down a ramp. Millionaire eats own face. Psychiatrist is suplexed. Student is made into a heart. Heart chases Will. Prisoner is made into a moth covered in snails. Chilton can't give flowers away. Detective is stabbed and pushed out of a window. Psychiatrist cuts friends head open. Millionaire puts nephew inside a pig. Psychiatrist goes to prison.

Was that intended to be read to the tune of "We Didn't Start the Fire"? Also, below, the full recording of Venus in Fur, the major thing the actors playing Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and Molly Graham (Nina Arianda) starred in together, and probably what Bryan Fuller was thinking of when he cast Hugh to begin with. Hugh's character, Thomas is casting the role of the dominatrix in a play about a sadomasochistic relationship and is disgusted by how most of the women he auditions don't get the role at all. Nina's character, Wanda is the ditzy clusterfuck of an actress who nevertheless completely understands the dominatrix character in a way Thomas gets obsessed with. Over the course of the audition, Wanda mindfucks Thomas until even his very grasp of reality gets unglued. tl;dw: yet another dramatic situation where Will Graham gets mindfucked except this time into a sex slave rather than a murder husband. http://renlybaratheon.tumblr.com/post/63857873692/venus-in-fur-sans-watermark-full-video-so-thanks

It feels really cheap and camp all of a sudden. Agreed with entirety. Also about them completely ruining the Will character. edit: speaking of s3, mind you. Cannot get all that excited about the tooth fairy. After all the elaborate murders of the first couple seasons, is "he kills whole families" all that climatic? No ammount of art can repair the sudden lack of decent plot and character building. Fog Tripper fucked around with this message at 03:40 on Jul 29, 2015 |

And two of Will's main traits have always been empathy (knowing what the person wants and wanting them to have that thing) and love of animals. I think that in an alternate universe where he was a serial killer, that would continue to be his MO. So might Will aid Dolarhyde's transformation/becoming?

I'm really surprised how warm this Abigail scene is. Hannibal is like her cool murder uncle. Alana's baby is sooooooooooooo dead. Bitch don't play with your loving food what do you think happened to Mason I can't tell if uh that's a mind palace corpse or actual corpse Steve Yun fucked around with this message at 04:39 on Jul 31, 2015 |

Yea his fancy white prison cell is 100% real and not in his head. Man there are some good shots of it at the start and it is pretty jarring to have that be his cell. It even has a boarded up fireplace I guess there was nothing left in the budget to alter that set anymore.

Handling infrared film sounds like arcane sorcery I should really watch Red Dragon and Manhunter again, I want to see how the chemistry between Dolarhyde and Reba compares. This one kind of feels like a schoolteacher talking to a young boy Mindpalace with Molly In the conversation between Hannibal and Jack, Hannibal wears the white, and Jack is dressed in black, Hannibal painting him as the villain. I loving lost it at,"You called us murder-husbands!" ![]() So I take it from the comments about the "five doors" that the reason Hannibal's cell is the way it is is due to Alana specifically positioning him in a place in the facility where she alone controls all access?

It was smart what they did with the mindpalace and Molly; they're in sync for a minute but then she makes a comment about Will's 'criminal mind' and they're back on the phone again, compared with earlier in the episode when Hannibal and Will traverse the whole country going over Dollarhyde's motives. I don't like the Will and Hannibal are ~deepest soulmates~ plot thread but it was some smart visual storytelling

They're doing some great visual stuff to adapt the material. AFoolAndHisMoney posted:Open Wide That and murder husbands had me in stitches Did anyone else catch the parallels with Abigail and Dolarhyde's "becomings?" Seems like Hannibal was setting Abigail up as a really unique individual, letting her craft her own kind of moral compass that could become something that's influenced by Hannibal and Will's worldviews, but not quite either at the same time. And like Dolarhyde, Hannibal will be instrumental in cutting them off before they reach their full potential. I'm about 2/3 of the way through the book also, and while the actual forensic investigation stuff is pretty boring to me, Dolarhyde's background and the whole FBI operation to catch him is pretty fascinating. Sidenote: I've never seen the movies hope and vaseline fucked around with this message at 14:43 on Jul 31, 2015 |

hope and vaseline posted:Competition for influence over Will. I bet that's why he hosed with Bella so badly, to make him miserable. Plus Jack is just everything Hannibal hates. He's unambiguously straight, a conventional company man that beat Hannibal up with his gross unsubtle fists and doesn't even slightly play his oh-so-precious murder minds game. It was so funny seeing Hannibal try and snipe at Jack for fashion sense and being into sports, ugh. For a pathetic moment Hannibal reveals that without the ability to murder and the veneer of conspicuous consumption he's basically a Hot Topic nerd.

That second fight with Jack when he's just flailing around miserably trying to get any verbal barbs in at him was just so telling of their relationship.

It looks like Jack is basically taking Will's place in the disdain section from Red Dragon because the confrontational lines are given to him. Similarly, Bloom is being given Chilton's lines as far as screwing with Hannibal's comfort goes.

I know it probably wouldn't fit with the events that went down earlier and with Will and Hannibal's relationship but I'm sad we didn't get the "You had certain disadvantages" line.
