Hmm I now think all graphs should have to be flanked by scantily clad men/women. It would certainly make reading scientific papers more interesting.

Mixing up metric and a meaningless unit of measurement for children has been a long-standing tradition in space travel. NASA did the same thing with the Mars Climate Orbiter and it worked out just fine.

It's supposed to be consequentially, so politics would be oppression->revolution->reform->suppression->war and so on (instead of politics being like 18% oppression, revolution, reform and suppression each and the rest being war, as I originally read it)

Speaking as a historian, this is really dumb though (not that you'd have to be a historian to realise this)

The books in the top left corner have the cobwebs on them because the author of this "graph" never bothered to actually read them, I'm guessing

My bet is they have bar tracking software and that's how much of "fully stocked" each type is. So that if you want something in particular, you can see if they're out, or almost out of it for that night.

Fun fact: The idea of democrats being labelled blue and republicans red wasn't actually cemented until the 2000 election. Often times networks would use other colors, it was really just another graph after all. But, red can have negative connotations, so the person who made this graph may have more right-leaning political views. Which is the case for pretty much all the people who make these graphs.

From an European point of view, Sanders is center/center-left, the Democratic party as a whole is center-right/far-right, the Republican party as a whole is extreme right, and Trump is an idiot that can't even be categorized in any kind of political scale. America has no real leftist politicians and they have no clue what a socialist actually is.

Also, red has always been the colour of socialism/the left, and in graphs in Europe, rightist parties are often shown as blue (because it's a clear 'opposite' to red).
