Yes and no. The paper was retracted, apparently for unrelated reasons; the graph in question is on page 8 (327). There are indeed other similar graphs near it, but the fold enrichment scale is slightly different from them, as the others go to a maximum of 90 instead of 100.

I like this graph a lot. Regardless of all the dumb assumptions involved, if you add lines for China, India and the Islamic world it suggests exactly the opposite of what the author was trying to say.

Not technically a graph, but still a dumb way to represent data. I saw an expiration date on a product that said "Best before two years after June 2015". Why not just say "Best before June 2017"?

You could make the argument that it was manufactured in June 2015 and will last two years and they want to somehow represent the first part of that sentence but let's face it they're probably trying to trick you into throwing it out sooner so you have to buy more.

Yeah using the proper projection I think you'd get more at the equator, or rather more between the two tropics than outside of it.

Maybe that's when the creator of that graph thinks Islamic extremist terrorist groups started popping up? Not like any of his other facts are straight.

"Transhuman Explosion" is quite possibly the best "would be a good band name" I've ever heard.

E: gently caress it's Transhuman Renaissance and Posthuman Explosion, those don't sound as cool. Also f;b with a more likely reason.

I mean yes I get it that was probably designed by some idiot racist/islamophobe and I shouldn't read too much into it but arggghhh.

using a reverse GIS constraining the time to 2009, it appears to come from A blog titled 'Common Sense Athiesm'
