Might be both. I recall Snoopy using it at one point in Bon Voyage Charlie Brown.

Edit: I just recently watched the "Demon Squad" episode, and I actually think I kind of like the movie? It's not great cinema by any means, but there are some interesting ideas going on. Definitely better than a lot of other movies they've done.

I've posted itt before about this but yes, Demon Squad is a lot of fun. It's like a Troma movie without the extreme gore. I love it.

Birds do not want you to know any more than you already do.
I really want to like Demon Squad but it reminds me SO MUCH of some guys I knew in high school and their awful acting abilities that they thought were Oscar-worthy. They made fantasty/sci-fi genre movies mostly. If I could just delete high school from my brain I'd probably find it quite fun.

Yeah Demon Squad just reminded me of how there's so much d-tier Urban Fantasy with basically the same premise.

It's a hard watch. Like, I'm sure the riffs are good, but sometimes the movie itself overpowers the riffs, you know?

Who would you vote for as the worst character in a riffed movie?

I vote for the doctor in The Brain That Wouldn't Die.

He's a jerk to his father.
He steals body parts for his twisted experiments.
He basically tortures his girlfriend by keping her head in a pan.
He abuses his lab assisant with the gimpy arm.
He created an abomination that he keeps in a dark closet.
He prowls the streets looking for a woman to behead.
He takes advantage of a vulnerable woman so that he can behead HER.

Did I miss anything?

I finally watched some of the new season, and while the episodes themselves are great, I really wish they would have made them more available. They've put their app on barely any devices, none that I own connected to my TV, and it doesn't work with screen mirroring on my phone to my TV. I had to download the episodes (which don't even download with useful names), put them on a USB stick, find an app on the Xbox that plays files off USB sticks, and that worked, after like half an hour of trying to figure out how to actually watch them.

We watched Robot Wars, Munchie, and Beyond Atlantis so far. All three were great. We had also watched Cry Wilderness, which I've seen many times at this point but my friend hadn't, and that one is such a fever dream of a movie.

Robot Wars I remember watching in the late '90s. I liked Robot Jox, especially at the time when mech movies were so rare, but Robot Wars was just so awful. Munchie would have been a forgettable OK kids movie if the puppet wasn't such a visual nightmare. Beyond Atlantis felt the most like a classic MST3K episode, '70s movies like that have such a slower pace than the two '90s movies.

Carly shook her glass, willing the ice to melt. "You still haven't told me what the mission is."

She leaned forward. "We are going to assassinate the bad men of Hollywood."

I remember the protagonist from Warrior of the Lost World being intensely dislikable. There’s something about those 70s male leads that make them all so unpleasant to watch. Maybe it’s just an Italian thing.

Since he can technically be classified as the protagonist, I'd say the "scientist" from Blood Waters of Dr. Z (aka Zaat) was pretty terrible.
