If the former then fine, but if it's just some piece of human trash who has the income to buy the 40 cents worth of onions then it's your duty to yell at that person extremely loudly until they run out in shame.

Not because onions matter specifically, but because these people have ruined every good thing that society has ever done. Like the stupid assholes who use an item until it's trashed and then return it.

If you don't feel this way, then I invite you to travel to any country where there is actual social decorum so you can see how much better it is. The liberties you can take with, for example, your personal belongings and communal property when there isn't some fuckwad right around the next corner looking to ruin everything good in this world so that they benefit in the extreme short term.

Like for example Japan. Japan has numerous problems, but you can basically take a brand new iphone, leave it on a bench for the entire loving day in a crowded area, and there is a 90% chance it will be there when you return AFTER DARK. These countries actually have communal services and areas that function properly and enrich everyone in the community.

And while the dude stealing a half pound of cut onions isn't going to ruin the world, on a bigger scale, it absolutely is.

Obviously you could make the argument that America itself is based on this kind of sociopathic behavior, and it is, but we need to fight this behavior where we can instead of just saying well gently caress it, it'll never change.

Anyways, carry on.

Maybe it was the dreaded stockholder

It’s a tragedy of the commons. Everyone should be eating as much onions as possible and taking them all home so that nobody else can do the same thing.

The pork tenderloin for $2.99 is a loving steal. Grab that 4 pack (2 per vacuum seal), grab a brat and soda on the way out ($1.50 free refills), and live happily ever loving after.

To cook in the fastest, most idiot proof way (aka weeknight dinner): rub down with a mix of oil (I use costco brand canola), basil, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Roast in the oven at 350 for about 30 minutes or until the thickest part reaches 140 degrees. Rest for 5-10 minutes, slice into 1/2 inch chunks, and enjoy with some Costco Normandy blend veggies.

Since they come in 2 packs of 2 each, roast both from a vacuum pack at once, and 1-3 nights later take the other one out, slice it into 1/2 inch chunks, and pan fry it on medium with a little bit of oil for 30-60 seconds per side.

sounds good I'll try em. I just tried that 3-pack of vac pack organic w/e chicken breasts and froze 2 of em. i appreciate that they seem to be 2 halves in each which makes them thin, so I just pounded em a bit, massaged some haberano olive oil , salt and harvest blend spices in it, and threw it in the broiler for like 10 minutes and let it sit wrapped it in tinfoil afterwards. came out loving great. i usually don't care that much for chicken because i feel its often too dry, too just mass of unflavored proteiny, or slimy, but this was a+

broiler is the secret tool for apartment dwellers and lazy people, since it cooks fast, leave them super juicy and gets a bit of a char.

although $4.99 a lb is probably a bit expensive for chicken. i would have got the thighs but they were the same price as the breast so i just went with the breast. i feel thighs are not a super secret great value anymore

i also got those 4-pack of NY strip steaks and froze 2 since they're hella cheap for good steak and used this method. it actually came out loving amazing slightly rarer than medium rare with juices oozing out and i re-enacted my own personal steak scene from the matrix they were that good that i made another one that night. probably not that healthy to eat that much red meat but god drat it was good.

Costco sells those boneless skinless chicken thighs and drumstick meat packs for like $1.99/lb. If you're looking for organic this ain't it, but if you're looking for quick and cheap dinner you fuckin found it. I toss a frozen rock hard chunk into my pressure cooker for 75 minutes and out comes shredded chicken for sandwiches, salads, tacos, whatever. My new favorite is to toss a frozen one in with a pound of carrots and a pound of onions and some basil and smoked paprika and let it cook for 75 minutes under pressure. When it's done add in some better than bouillon (also at Costco) until the salt tastes right and say hello to 3-4 days of lunches.

hope this helps anybody has to make that choice.

it'll be a P followed by a 3, 4, or 5 digit number. depending on where you are in the country the kirkland brand is probably either perdue or pilgrim's pride.

It's not like pot will dry out chicken of ot's in there too long. I like to go a little long with frozen just to make sure it's all good at the end.

Anyway, those 65-75 minutes easily would have been spent water-thawing so it's not like an insane time waster.

I know these instant pots are meant to be voodoo but jesus I wouldnt think 15 minutes from frozen would be correct at all. Temp check your chicken so you dont die (or get the hershey squirts)

Maybe that's strictly cooking time which leaves out warm-up time. I haven't tried this myself so I have no idea what's legit.

If you're tossing in chunks, that means you need adequate time for the frozen-on-frozen parts to properly thaw and cook up.

For like one chicken thigh? 25 minutes sure

Well instant pot times are the time it is sealed and cooking full blast, but then it slowly releases the pressure and cooks for like ~10-20 additional minutes unless you manually release it.

Here, do this: https://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2012/05/colombian-chicken-stew-with-potatoes-tomato-onion-recipe.html
You can use ~28oz of canned tomatoes and whatever skin-on chicken parts you want. Bone-in thighs are the best, IMO.
If you're one of those folks that only eats boneless, skinless chicken breasts then don't bother with this recipe. It won't work. The dish requires the collagen and fat from the chicken skin.

Coredump posted:

Warm up and cool down aren't generally quoted in pressure cooker recipes. If the recipe says "25 minutes," that's 25 minutes at pressure. Unless it tells you to do a "quick release" you need to let it cool down on it's own until it unlocks. Those add quite a bit of time to a recipe. I recommend setting the timer and hitting start before you start dumping stuff in the pot so it's already warming up before you put the lid on.

You can use your Costco Rotisserie Chicken carcasses in your Instant Pot to make the best homemade Chicken Stock. Freeze it into large ice cube trays and then dump in a gallon freezer bag and you have on-demand chicken stock with no preservatives whenever you need it. Just put a few cubes in the pan on low heat to melt.

Last week I cooked a couple of those big ol Costco breasts in the Instant Pot, from frozen; it took 30 minutes of cook time to get up to 180. Probably could have gotten away with 25 but it was immersed in the Kirkland organic chicken stock so no risk of losing any of that wonderful juiciness.
