BTW talking about bears: Mechwarrior 2 Ghost Bear's Legacy was one of the very best mission packs ever (allthough the underwater mission was buggy as hell). I need to play that poo poo again. Are there any modern mods I should take a look at?

That's when it works by the way. More often than not I get something like this (not to flog my own youtube or anything):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8ghK6glerU

And that's on a system that meets all the recommended specs. The game runs like absolute dogshit, and it's so much work to even get to the part where you can clip through a wall and go "heh, that was kind of funny" that it's not even worth it 99.9999% of the time.

What's been bugging me lately (The nice thing about SC is that there's so much wrong with it you can come up with different things to be annoyed at practically daily) is how they rag on ED being "incomplete" because they de-scoped private servers, yet SC did EXACTLY the same thing, and it's the third bullet point on the kickstarter.

The "smart" guys are always the ones that fall hardest for the scam. Since they think they too intelligent to be bamboozled by mere parlor tricks.

You can land on planets now. They are million-square-kilometer balls with lots of geometry glitches and issues. There's no life or vegetation or NPC's or missions. There's maybe a dozen "Areas of interest" scattered across the 4 or 5 planets but every one that I visited during the free testing period was just one of their ship art assets "Crashed" on the surface. None of this matters because the wankpod-to-ship loop will still crash you 3 times out of 5, before you ever even begin the 20 minute journey to a planet's surface.

Man... I remember when star citizen backers were making GBS threads all over Elite because Elite was gonna be able to land on planets in real time and the backers were all "LOL THATS NOT POSSIBLE IN YOUR BABY GAME" and the Braben went and did it with his team and then backers started making GBS threads all over Elite because Elite had these huge planets but they were mostly barren wastelands and you only had a few points of interest on each planet and backers were all "HAHAHA YOUR BABY SHITPISS GAME SUCKS" and now Elite has aliens and is developing more habitable locations but the backers have a demo now and are all "LOOK AT WHAT YOU WERE DOING 2 YEARS AGO, BUT IF IT WAS SUPER SHIIIIIIIIIIIT"

That and their hate on the ship skins. Five dollars to make your ASP green versus 420 for your Constellation but hey, ED are the bad guys.

The Citizens' biggest fear is not even that the game won't come out, it's that they have, in fact, been ripped off, some for many thousands of dollars. That's not that weird; feeling like you've been ripped off is a painful experience. I've been ripped off a few times, certainly more when I was younger and naive, and you feel kind of ashamed, you've been made a fool of.

Easiest way to avoid that feeling is to pretend it was a good deal after all, certainly in public.

I doubt the ones who've put in more than they could afford to lose will ever accept just what a bad idea it was to put so much into this loving circus.

This x1000. It's almost an entire field of psychological study all by itself. There's a band on the intelligence spectrum where, if you fall within it, you "know" you're smart, but you're not as smart as you think. The sad thing is people who butt up against that wall have the intellectual capacity to pass it, but most don't because they can't handle the ego hit required for a "smart" person to be willing to look at themselves and say "Maybe I'm a loving idiot, let's review this." The few that stick with it feel stupid for a while, then come out the other side with perspective that the vast majority of the rank and file simply don't, and can't, possess, along with the important ability to question themselves.

The ones that can't get past the ego hit simple self-identify as "really smart you guys" and spend the rest of their lives letting everyone know how smart they are, issuing sick burns and brutal takedowns on Twitter, and investing in Star Citizen.

SHAVE IT ALL OFF
ALL OF IT

hey, it's tee shirts! The one thing CIG can actually produce and deliver! And by produce I mean they buy wholesale them from the lowest bidder North Korean slave labor sweat shop. And by deliver I mean they mark up the shirts by an insane amount and then charge the same amount for shipping a one pound package from Asia.
