People holding up Jobs as a jesus figure says more about average computer competency and human psychology/marketing than anything Apple tech did, but at least Apple was firmly in the right market. Chris isn't in the games business. He's a Hollywood auteur. You just don't know it yet because his star-studded, mocapped Squad 42 cinematic experience has not yet been released. Once that's done studios will be pitching to him and he will finally validate his big movie director lifestyle. The weird space MMO his underlings keep talking about doesn't even register.

Nah unfortunately I can confirm that there are quite a few other places with similar management and bullshit practices as CIG

I worked for a company led by old crap devs who couldn't understand OO so trying to implement anything using any current standards was met with "Its too new and probably filled with security holes. We have told the client we can do it and we will do it with stored procedures and oracle forms."

"Oh and when we say we can do it, we mean you will do it".

Am I the only one who finds it hillarous that they show off that they're still mocapping, but in this tweet they decided to show off mocap of the two most boring things in the world: a guy sitting and a guy standing. Like cmon, show us some of that action you promised, not stationary people, this isn't rocket science, this is marketing 101, Sandi.

In the BTS materials they showed that a lot of mocap was done by one actor at a time, but they did face capture separate from body capture, and even if it was one actor they were moving around, to better convey emotions in any given scene.

What I'm saying is CIG is incompetent in every degree.

Being generous we could say he's got two years of cobbled together mo-cap experience before and after his course. Nothing shipped of note of course.

That'd about qualify him for the base mo-cap specialist position they've still got on their jobs listing (which has been supposedly listed since Jan 2017). 2 yrs+ relevant experience etc. Him stepping straight into the Senior role is about as telling as it gets though.

This has got to be such a major reason for the ATVs etc being slashed. They're running out of people to show who aren't fresh-faced desperation hires. Or experienced fan oddities like Photoshop guy.
