We can agree to disagree on the whole scam thing; most people don't set out to scam, but are lured by the easy promises - it's one of the reasons why there are the concepts of restitution and remorse, but you're high if you think SC is working as promised at any step of the way. Literally high. Like that can be demonstrated by simply pointing you at the roadmap and mushing your face up against the number of times that network and bandwidth are specific blockers. Also, 'don't disgree' is 'agree'. I recognize this style.

This year CIG will make $5.98 from citizencon or whatever it is called. I am really looking forward to the announcement that they are changing to unreal engine, you read it here first. There will be no gameplay shown and Chris will instead regale us with stories of past victories, his epic battle for justice against Kevin Costner and wow us with card tricks and extreme baking.

This is surely some good news for Shart Citizen. Egosoft is releasing X4: Foundations on November 30th.... OF THIS YEAR. Here's a video featuring many of the promises that Chris Roberts has spoken of, but this time they actually exist since CIG has nothing to do with it. Will X4 be a giant bug filled piece of poo poo like X:Rebirth? My estimation for CitCon this year is 7M. I strongly think CIG is going to come out fighting, and show tons of tech either in videos or real stand alone demo instances. For the big wigs I bet they think this may be the last big hurrah. I wouldn't be surprised if they wheel out some Hollywood too and several movies from Sq42 cinematics. CIG is going to bank hard on "watch the game" rather than "play the game". The magic will be however they use this to tie back into Star Citizen, the game people actually want to play and drop tons of money for, vs the single player fmv game nobody but CR and like 50 others want.

Then Chris spits on a cake and tells everyone that maybe Rockstar can catch up, and after 20 more minutes of unrestrained laughter, everyone goes out drinking and they laugh all night retelling tales of the freaks up on stage and the piece of poo poo they created and called a game. They all toast Chris for making them laugh harder then his date on prom night, then the next day they have a newfound appreciation for all games that aren't Star Citizen. This is my dream of the future of saved PC gaming.

I also think some of the big capital ships (bigger than the Idris) will make show up in sizzle reels to keep the whales spending. SQ 42 will probably be the focus though, its all they really have at this point. But, it does feel like this is starting to wind down. The core group of zealots who have dug in and decided to defend SC to the death, regardless of the state of the game, are all that CIG seem's to have left. The public drubbing CIG has taken over the ongoing 3.0 debacle and their constant money grubbing, has destroyed almost all of the general public's interest and squelched their ability to generate hype and fresh suckers. They obviously can't add any meaningful content into the existing framework of the PU, at least without it being an even more broken mess. Bootcha has also said he thinks this CitCon will be CIG's last big hoorah. I just can't imagine them filling a big venue a year from now with still nothing to show for the PU. It feels like one last big rally of the faithful. Not that CIG will fold anytime soon, I just see them continuing to scale back their public profile (like they've been doing with their videos and other convention appearances). I think next year it will be some lame rear end "come hang out with us in a bar in LA!".
