It was mad max vehicle building with stupid sci fi elements. It was nice until f2p mechanics killed the fun parts. My enjoyment came from building the most refined and simple tank design possible at the lowest value to evade lovely drone vehicles at higher battle value that were boring and dumb. The thing it taught me was just how specific physics and mechanics limited vehicle design if you wanted them to be not poo poo. Since one of my favorite game genres is giant robot fight orgy this really conflicted with it since at its core giant robots are just a bad idea designwise. Star citizen just seems rife with design(s) that is done in spite or reality. So many ships with bad weapon layouts (even if they all worked). I really wish more game devs would learn about how reality impacts mechanics, design, and implicit tutorials. And stuff like Lancaster's equation for ranged combat. There is a dark corner in my mind that has the question "what if rsi makes a less mechanically broken game tha pgi's mwo?" That part of my mind scares me because even though roberts is bad. So is mwo (though it is a finished product).
