There's something else about bears not many people know. If a bear gets hooked on the taste of crowdfunding, it becomes a man-killer. He'll go on a rampage and has to be destroyed. And that's why you should never hug a bear.

I too hope that Star Citizen is replete with "obvious role play that fits with having toilets."

I think they said:

- Chris Roberts birthed the demo from his man loins. Crytek wasn't even the midwife.

- Ortwin doesn't recall any scurrilous corporate secrets.

- SQ42 isn't out yet. But when it is it will launch from the SC client, naturally.

- It can't have damaged Crytek that they were late with the code share. (Because it was all poo poo).

- Crytek are cry babies who overshare and underprotect their code.

- They never talked them down. Legally speaking.

Edit: I found a link there to the Wikipedia page about most expensive to develop video games.
Turns out there's a long edit fight where someone keeps removing Star Citizen from the list. Half of the Talk-page is about SC:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:List_of_most_expensive_video_games_to_develop#About_Star_Citizen_and_the_one_who's_removing_it_from_the_list
As of now, Star Citizen is not listed.

It's listed again, and the only entry with a release date of "TBD".
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most_expensive_video_games_to_develop
Of course, the page title assumes it's a game and not a digital dollhouse, but more people have come to that misinterpretation.

I'm not sure what precisely answer was required since the complaint was already amended and responded to and even had motions to dismiss ruled upon, anyway responses to complaints are usually all boilerplate "we ain't did nothing, and even if we did it didn't matter and even if it did matter it's too late!" For all intents and purposes it's basically a notice to the court that you're awake and you intend to contest it instead of defaulting.

It's a double-down on the motion to dismiss that they're pushing really hard based on there being absolutely no case to answer, one of the points being the totally legal and never-before-tried gambit of making a special separation between Chris Roberts of RSI and Chris Roberts of CI!G. They effectively try to gish-gallop the various requirements for there to be legal standing for the complaint, but it's unlikely to really work given the court in question.

They really need to be working on a defense that a jury can get behind.

As with all punditry, we tend to avoid making _absolute_ determinations unless a judge has weighed in, because those buggers can occasionally come from left field with some wacky stuff, and it's a brave internet lawyer that flips a coin based on what a Judge is thinking.

The only streams I really check in on are a handful of Rocket League streams where occasionally interesting matches are played and interesting content and analysis, you know nerdy esports stuff rather than screamy streamer personality-driven stuff. No disrespect if that's your thing, at the end of the day it's still watching someone else play a video game. Hell it might be sadder, as sometimes it's listening to someone watch someone else play a video game...

My point is that even with that limited selection I've seen that kind of thing first-hand, I don't know if it's to impress the streamer, or their community, or to just throw away large amounts of money, but some people will cheer ridiculous amounts of bits, donate huge amounts of money, and gift dozens of subscriptions. One guy in particular comes to mind, who repeatedly sets fire to a small wheelbarrow of cash for the benefit of this one game analyst, and I hope that dude never gets into spaceship JPEGs.

I mostly just watch smaller streams where chat is slow enough to read and people tend to behave or get run out and there's little to no screaming going on. Mostly Zelda games or games with a lot of different paths to take (gameplay or storywise), just to see how people approach situations differently than I would. I like when someone makes me go "Wait, you could solve it that way?!?". :aaaaa:
Not into watching e-sports, myself, outside of the occassional Starcraft 2 match, but it's cool if you enjoy that :peanut:
Anyway... Yeah, I don't really know why people would gift like 20 or 100 subs at once, but whatever floats their boat, I guess.

TheDarkFlame posted:

I think you're still being misleading. The game isn't at all about walking, and in many cases walking is ill-advised as moving around is liable to clip you through the floor or otherwise kill you for no reason, especially if you're actually in a spaceship somehow.

If you play this game you don't want to fly through space or walk around, or shoot guns, or see planets, or any of that nonsense. In fact you don't even want to start up the program if you want to play this game, you just want to open up your wallet because this game is Ship Citizen, and you gotta catch 'em all!
Maybe rename it Ship Collector 2019, then just change the year every January to make it seem like they are putting out a new version? Would fit in with the naming of Train Simulator (and its mountain of DLC) and such, so the Germans would probably like it.

The second life in space except all the kinks are already built in just and just waiting for your fidelitous bathroom role play to be engaged.

I wonder what happened to that CIG dev who asked people to chill with the bathroom stuff at some point around when the medical ship thing was being sold as the best ship.
