A neat thing, the news in the flashback is Byakuya News, which is one of the corporations in the Kengan tournament.

His fighter was beaten and replaced by the Chinese martial artist dude.

Also this is loving amazing.

I think that if you're writing/drawing a fighting manga involving pro wrestlers you are obligated to put in any combination of the three as a promoter/boss type. 95% of their time their role is to get chumped by the protagonist as the big bad of some early arc.

Yeah, it was actually a pretty good fakeout. He's just been doing sumo stuff this entire match so it actually made me forget that he's considered a disgrace to sumo for a reason. Nobody expects that sort of kick from a sumo wrestler.

I can't believe the secret to Primal Sumo is kicking.

Dec 31, 2008

Well you notice he didn't have his arms around Seki's chest anymore either. Looks like maybe he kicked him from one side of the head while palm striking from the other. Setting aside whether that's physically possible to do in a remotely effective way, that would probably gently caress you up pretty good. Also,

CEO: 'Sekibayashi has something you lack, Cosmo. You must learn what it is during this match.'

*next round Cosmo shows up wearing dreadlocks*

CEO: 'Goddammit Cosmo.'

Do you guys think it's gonna go the same way after this fight or we're gonna start with Agito and Naoya?

ZepiaEltnamOberon
Oct 25, 2010

Didn't the chairman state that it would be the last match?

Plus, given that Kanoh is supposed to be the strongest fighter, and Naoya is supposed to be the #3 fighter or something, I'd think they'd save it for last.

He first appeared playing shogi or whatever against, uh, Kanade? He kept on demanding rematches cause he kept losing.

He's also like Rihito and the two of them went around hitting on every woman they could find.

He's the fighter for the #3 company.

He has like, a buzz cut.

Yeah it's pretty much my favorite fight in the tournament so far.

It also feels like the most evenly matched fight.
