He's thinking of Magical Girl Apocalypse (Ne: Mahou Shojo of The End) and Magical Girl Site which are needlessly grimdark stories that use MGs like how Chick Tracts use Non-Christians. The story involves an endgame, and I am using n'th hand information so pardon if I get this wrong, where the badguy is trying to eliminiate humanity by reverting everyone to their primortial state which is depicted as sperm flying into the air. They're poo poo. Magical Girl Raising Project is not related but not held in much better regard. ConanThe3rd fucked around with this message at 14:44 on Sep 17, 2020 |

MGS wasn’t good, but it was hilarious at a couple points. The rest, egh.

That meme’s a bit out of date, there are currently 66 Cures plus a couple mascots and at least a chunk of the human race thanks to Hugtto.

Yeah this meme has gone around before, IIRC it was 2013/2014 so Happiness Charge era. But yeah they had a whole news feature on it back then and it gained widespread attention in Japan around that time, lol. Then there was a related challenge where parents would ask their otaku sons to name all the Cures.

Healin Good 25: This is the first episode in a while to take the focus away from Asumi, instead of focusing on Pegitan and his very Terriermon-and-Li relationship with a young girl after he's pengnapped. Felt like it could have fit earlier in the season - Asumi and Latte didn't have much to do during the proceedings - but it was a cute one. And the movie at the beginning of the episode with the different art style threw me for a loop. Wasn't totally sure I was even watching Precure at first. Though that was resolved quickly enough. Though next week is another Asumi episode

Healin' Good was basically just a clip show this week. Nothing to report. Though next week is yet another Asumi episode. Sort of surprised they left this one in the lineup at all honesty considering the hiatus Larryb fucked around with this message at 02:08 on Sep 27, 2020 |

I'm guessing it was added in cause of the hiatus and they're still trying to rework things involved with the plot. It's looking very likely that the mid-season climax is going to be rolled into the one we usually get in October (I suspect we're still gonna end in Jan since Kamen Rider ended and started at the same time)

Not sure why they couldn't have just cut this one but some of the character interaction was cute at least. But yeah, as they're likely not going to delay the next season due to their strict toy schedule I wouldn't be surprised if Healin Good winds up being a bit shorter than normal (like 42-45 episodes rather than the usual 49). Though then again, the main series movie won't be out until next year apparently so who knows how things are going to work.

Healin Good 27: We're back with a normal episode. There's a hot air balloon race going on, and Asumi learns about another human emotion. This also marks the first time we a true transformation with all four Cures. The end of the episode was the moment the scans foreshadowed - Daruizen appeared and hit Nodoka with one of the Megaparts, leaving her incapacitated. Precure doesn't usually go in this direction. Yup, the plot just came back in a big way. I’m honesty pretty curious to see where they’re going with this.

While we don’t have a title for the next season yet, we do allegedly have a merchandise listing for it: Anybody have any idea what this says?

Just lists 'rhinestone necklaces' and the cases for them in capsule toys I think?

So nothing too specific then? Ah well. Regardless, Toei is on record as saying they don’t want to delay the next season (they’ve got a strict toy schedule to adhere to after all and Bandai’s the one calling the shots in that department) so it seems likely to me that we’ll be getting the usual trademark in another month or two and Healin Good will wind up being like 42-45 episodes as opposed to the usual 49. If it's any help it lists "Necklace" A-E and "Bracelet Watch" A-E, so maybe it's a 5 member team?

Though on closer inspection, the word “Precure” (プリキュア) is not present anywhere on that list as far as I can tell so for all we know this could be something entirely unrelated.

Healin Good 28: That was a strange episode. Getting infected with a Megaparts made Nodoka "give birth" to Kedari, a Daruizen-lookalike. He was soundly beaten, but that only brought up further questions. Namely, that Daruizen was originally hosted in Nodoka’s body, bringing to mind an Ex-Aid scenario. Fitting that it parallels the other doctor show. Also (if Toei actually allowed her to age) a happy 30th birthday to the OG Pink Nagisa Misumi.

I imagine they'll bring it up a bit with Daruizen now, but I kinda wish they'd touched on the morality of just blowing away Daruizen Jr. after he was alive, what, a couple minutes? At least it felt more questionable than the animal generals since he barely seemed to have any agency beyond his base instincts.

It does sort of contradict how Batetemoda and the bird Byogen from a few episodes ago were created but this is a nice twist nonetheless. Now I'm kind of curious where the other two generals came from then.

Now I'm kind of curious where the other two generals came from then. Who says it contradicts it. We did not see the Nutria pop out after Batetemoda was beaten. There is a good chance it worked exactly like how it did with Nodoka, the Byogen was the disease itself inside the creature instead of the creature. We saw the bird after, but we did not see the Byogen turn back into the bird. MonsterEnvy fucked around with this message at 22:39 on Oct 11, 2020 |

Fair enough On another note, the little Healing Animal puppet shows Toei was doing on the official YouTube channel during the hiatus are apparently still going on. Not sure if anyone’s subbed them though.

On another topic, here’s a new trailer for the Sailor Moon Eternal movie (the first of two covering the Dream/SuperS portion of the manga): https://youtube.com/watch?v=p4ntci4Sr8U Looks pretty good, I am still kind of curious how they’re going to make two movies out of 11 chapters worth of manga though. On the other hand, Dream is one of the few arcs I feel the manga actually did BETTER than the 90’s anime so I’m kind of looking forward to this one. Healin Good 29: This was a nice episode. Nodoka's dealing with some guilt after realizing what happened last week, and goes overboard with training trying to keep herself healthy. Also, Asumi raps. The MotW this episode was one of the better ones the show's done, a creative brass instrument-based one. The team's gathered enough Element Bottles now, so I wonder where things are going to go from here.

Healin Good 30: Most of this episode was pretty chill. The Cures help resolve a Lions vs Tigers fight between two boys, and go to the zoo. But Shindoine ends up showing what happens when one of the Byogens powers up themselves. She gets a new look, and is willing to use her new powers not to infect an object or an animal, but a human. We're going into a two-parter here, to be resolved in November with the new arrow toy.

The only magical girl manga I can think of that have action sequences are Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, and Madoka Magica. A handful of Precure manga have been translated as well but a lot of them are more slice of life stuff. Speaking of Precure, here’s a better shot of the upcoming new forms for the Healin Good team set to debut next episode: Reminder there’s no episode this weekend as they’ve got some kind of sports event going on. Also a new toy listing: https://twitter.com/precuredolphin/status/1321652051021946882 Assuming it’s Precure related it seems we may be starting the next season with another duo.
