When all is said and done I'm curious what it would be like to play these games again in chronological order. Would the player be less likely to sacrifice Chloe at the end after having spent two whole games getting to know her or would they possibly understand her position even more?

I'm excited to play through LiS after seeing more of how Chloe lives and thinks. I remember when I first met Chloe in episode one I was nervous on the truck ride away from Blackwell because I thought she was gonna be pissed and start yelling at Max for ghosting. But after getting to know her better, I'd say she was probably way more nervous about meeting Max again.

Between this and Mario Odyssey this is shaping up to be a pretty good month so far. A lot of stuff from the first game seems to get introduced in this episode as well. From the trailer alone we've got: Chloe's truck, Chloe's beanie, Rachel's red flannel shirt and David officially moving into the Price household (maybe we'll even get the blue hair and/or Jefferson by the end of the last episode).

While it was by no means terrible in the last episode the quality of the voice acting seems to have improved a bit this time around and, as expected, there's a lot more obvious story content on display. I wonder if we'll run into a few more famillar faces in this chapter as well (the first episode implies that Warren, Brooke, Alyssa, Stella, Juliet and probably a few others I forget are at Blackwell around this time). Since Chloe mentioned she knew her in the first game, it might be nice to see what Kate was like before Nathan and Victoria turned her life into a living hell too.

Only real complaint is that we're only just now starting to develop something akin a real plot and (aside from that woman and Rachel herself) there isn't as much of a sense of mystery about this game like there was in the last one. Hopefully it'll still manage to stick the landing at the end though.

Counting the bonus episode, the player will have followed her through three phases of her life. Playing through all that ought to be quite the experience. And I thought that Life Is Strange couldn't get any more devastating.

Likewise, and there's still some we haven't even heard yet (Numbers by Daughter played in the first trailer for the game but was not present in the first episode. I'm guessing it'll be the final ending theme ala Spanish Sahara/Obstacles in the last game).

What was the name of the song that played during this trailer?

I looked it up on YouTube out of curiosity and were some of these songs written specifically for this game or was it just a lucky coincidence? Because this one seems explicitly about Chloe and Rachel (Ex: "You have buried childish qualities...I have many destructive qualities. Friend make sense of me", "Your father's a liar while my father's lying down").

Either way, nice to see the music choices this time around are about as spot on as the original's were.

ET probably knows better than me but I'm pretty sure some of these were written for the game.

Yeah these are all compositions from Daughter who were commissioned to write specifically for the game (much like Dontnod happened to have one of the members of Syd Matters composing the original score).

Numbers is the exception, since that's apparently from their previous album.

I wonder if that's only going to be in the trailers (since Season 1 had a bunch of great songs that weren't actually used in the game or on the soundtrack).

There's also a few scenes/dialogue that was present in the trailers for Season 1 that didn't make it into the final game as well (like Nathan screaming about the storm for example). I actually just watched them recently out of curiosity, I like how the one for Episode 4 makes sure not to show Chloe at all so as not to spoil anything.

Though given the context of the song I could definitely see it playing during the final ending or something (to me it kind of has the same feel that Spanish Sahara did, particularly the repeated chorus of "I feel numb in this kingdom"), but we'll see of course.

I'd like to see the dream sequences in this just get more and more bizarre as we get closer to the end (maybe start having some other characters besides William pop up in the car or something). Though I'm not sure if a fully involved Nightmare sequence at the very end would work without feeling like a rehash of the first game.

I thought I saw William flicker into David for a moment in the second dream. Not sure of the significance of that beyond her unresolved issues with father figures.

Though the question of why is still unclear it's made pretty obvious by the second dream that "William" is actually just the raven speaking to Chloe directly.

Unless this is specifically about her daddy issues I could see it taking other forms later on as well (such as Rachel, Max or even Chloe herself). Though it's probably not likely, a Backtalk Mirror Match between Rhianna DeVries Chloe and Ashly Burch Chloe might be cool.

Most likely yes, I hope she does manage to come back at least for a line or two. The current actress will most likely continue voicing Chloe for the remainder of the game but bringing in Ashly for either a nightmare sequence or a time jump at the very end of the game could work.

Some people on reddit are reporting that Microsoft accidentally leaked the second episode download early and it's available to play for X-Box owners right now. It could just be a rumor, but maybe someone who actually owns the Bone can verify.

I'm pretty sure that since the strike's been resolved now, they probably will. I imagine they hadn't started production on that yet, or at least not recording the dialogue.

Disclaimer: I know nothing about game development and that was a wild stab in the dark.

A funny thing about Life is Strange is that (as good as it ended up being) it kind of had a shoestring budget regarding voice acting, which is probably why the biggest names attached to the project were Ashly Burch and Daniel Bonjour(Frank) with the rest mostly being first-timers.

This also meant you had the same actors playing multiple roles (for example: Hannah Telle was also the voice of Courtney, Ashly Burch played Stella and Taylor, Jefferson and Samuel shared a voice actor as did Joyce and the homeless woman, Kate, Alyssa, and Juliet were all the same person, etc), and for some it's really obvious at times. I don't think this was the case with Before the Storm though.

Someone on Youtube took the story footage from Life Is Strange and used it to make a three-hour movie. With a twist. They completely removed Max's powers from the story, resulting in Life Is Strange: No Rewind. It's hella bleak, actually...

My point is that (to my knowledge) there have been no PC Final Fantasy games, ergo Max must be a console gamer and thus a FF fan, or else she likes Spirits Within entirely independently, which is truly the most heinous of crimes.
