In what I'm sure will be one of the most extensively analyzed five-second trailers of all time, I guess LiS 2 is sticking with the adolescent theme.

I'm glad I have money nowadays Seriously, we've got Captain Spirit this Monday, LiS 2 in September, Mega Man 11 in October, Smash in December, and Kingdom Hearts 3 in January (among others), that other Indigo Prophecy-esque game Dontnod currently has in development looks kind of interesting as well. I'm not sure if there's ever been this many games I'm interested in coming out in rapid succession like this. Not that I'm complaining of course. As for LiS 2, the backpack seems to indicate it'll yet again be centered around teenagers though nothing's set in stone yet (like I've said, I highly doubt that Chris is going to remain the protagonist into LiS 2 but he'll probably be important somehow). I assume the main game will still be set in Beaver Creek, OR though and will most likely take place almost immediately after (or even during) Captain Spirit or at most about 2 years later. Looking forward to hearing more in the coming months.

From intensive analysis of the video, I've determined that we will play the role of a troubled young backpack, blessed with the power of telekinetic stitching. There will be a nebulously platonic relationship with a tote bag, which we will be forced to sacrifice at the end of the story or else a town full of plastic grocery bags gets blown away.

LiS 2 predictions based on how the series has been going so far: - The prologue chapter we're getting in a few days is a fluke and the actual protagonist will be a teenage girl with another teenage girl serving as her partner for the majority of the game as well as a clingy male friend who fancies the protagonist on some level, both are potential romance options you can pursue (BtS sort of flipped this on its head but Eliot was such a non-entity throughout the game that the encounter with him at the end didn't really have the same effect it probably should have had). - Some sort of natural disaster caused by somewhat supernatural means will occur during the story. - A spirit animal of some kind will appear before the main character at various points throughout the game - Primary antagonist is an adult white male in some position of power with a direct connection to one of the protagonists, but a secondary antagonist with some connection to the main one will get most of the focus until the end of the penultimate episode. -The final choice will directly involve the welfare of your partner in some fashion. I'll be happy to be proven wrong on any of these. I'm still not entirely convinced we won't be running into any old friends by the end but I'd rather the primary focus remain on the new cast, looking forward to this regardless though and I'll probably still end up liking it overall even if it does wind up falling on its face again in the final episode. If you're talking about the middle box in the LiS logo then it's actually a little different from its presentation in Season 1, which had a thicker bottom border that more resembled a polaroid and two pieces of tape holding it up. In Before the Storm it was an anarchy logo. So maybe the minimalist black square is somehow representative of the main character of Season 2 and their aesthetic.

Actually, it's coming out tomorrow now: https://twitter.com/LifeIsStrange/status/1009820773970792449/ As I understand it, in both context and in length this is basically LiS 2's equivelant of Farewell. Though there are multiple different ways to spend the day so it's probably worth a few replays (from what I've seen so far this looks like Calvin & Hobbes: The Game, which I'm ok with). At any rate, I'm actually looking forward to this and whatever dark twist they wind up springing on us at the very end (there hasn't been an LiS episode to date that hasn't thrown some kind of emotional curve ball your way). The June 25th release date was from the official LiS Twitter account and Dontnod has confirmed it. Steam might work differently from the console releases but I'm not sure. Either way, it won't be long now.

Tangential to LiS, but 1979 Revolution: Black Friday is on sale on Steam for about $1.50, another game about a slightly gormless photographer who has people die around them due to their choices. It's quite short and limited, but it's very interesting and educational. Learn all about Ayatollahs!

My LiS 2 predictions: -The protagonist is Chris's older brother who is away at Blackwell during whatever happens in Captain Spirit. -LiS 2 begins with the father dying or being killed or disappearing. Something happens to the father. He has some sports gambling debts maybe that gets him into some hot water. -The brothers decide to head out to go... somewhere. There's a traveling motif I predict. Maybe they need to bring a ransom for their dad to pay off his debts or maybe they're fleeing something. -Chris has the powers. There are certain situations where Chris is unwilling or unable to use his powers or perhaps if you piss him off too much during certain scenes, he won't help you. -There isn't a specific imminent disaster like the storm or fire, but perhaps there is a blizzard or other inclement weather as part of the journey. -A key theme is what people will do to survive. Much of the game is about what the brothers will do in desperate circumstances. -Rather than photos or graffiti, the protagonist will collect patches as seen in the logo.

exquisite tea posted:I'm gonna guess that LiS 2 will be a runaway teen story, and Capt. Spirit's background will only be tangientally related. Yeah, I think they've said that while your actions in Captain Spirit will have consequences in LiS 2, you don't necessarily have to play the former in order to understand the latter (though I'm guessing Chris is going to pop up again in some capacity even though I am 99% sure he won't be the protagonist). It's still nice that we're getting 3 Life is Strange related projects in a row now though (Captain Spirit later today, LiS 2 proper in September, and the comic miniseries later this year/early 2019). I'm going to assume the live action webseries that was announced a while back is essentially dead in the water at this point unless we hear otherwise. We haven't really seen any gay dudes in this series yet though, that could be interesting. As could just cutting out the middle man and making a canonically gay protagonist (the closest we've had so far is Chloe who at the very least seems to be bi with a heavy leaning towards girls). Chris can’t pop up in LiS 2, he’s gonna be dead. Unless you play his ghost! That would be rad

Either way, I kind of doubt this game is going to end well for our new protagonist and whatever happens will have an effect on the plot of LiS 2 in someway. Also, a suggestion to whoever makes the next thread: since the games are connected with each other and will be released about 3 months apart it might be best to just make a joint Captain Spirit/Life is Strange 2 thread rather than separate ones for each (especially since from what I'm hearing the former is about as long as Farewell was give or take an hour), either that or just a general purpose LiS megathread. Captain Spirit is really fun, in an insanely depressing way. I feel like I have to walk on eggshells after that breakfast scene, but all the weird little play scenes and drawing rules. Check out the top row of books on the bookshelf in the main room

Two questions: 1. Are there any direct references/related easter eggs to the previous game(s) that you've found besides the letter from Wells and the fact that Chris' mom went to Blackwell? 2. Is Hawt Dawg Man in this game? Larryb fucked around with this message at 18:10 on Jun 25, 2018 |

Can you choose to not import your save from LiS season one, does it give you the option to choose a canon ending, or what?
