if ya lock yourself out of ya iphone and can’t get into it, can you force restore from backup? or do you need to solve the security problem first? can you wipe the phone from findmyphone?

i think you have to put it in dfu mode and restore it that way. i don't think itunes will let you restore it without being unlocked, but i could be wrong.

nah lol girl at party was getting pissed off coz everyone knew her passcode and kept changing spotify songs and so she changed the code but hosed it up lol and now she’s locked out coz it’s the same situation as if you stole one right? and apple has made it so stealing iphones is kinda pointless right?

you can't reactivate an iphone without putting in your icloud password. you can certainly still erase and restore them, so as long as she has her icloud pass she's fine.

I have cool commercial keypad locks with different passcodes and scheduling and audit trails and it suits my needs. A previous version of the lock could be jiggled open with a rare earth magnet and they claim its been fixed but if someone wants to steal my poo poo that badly then let em have it.

yeah, I wonder how many of those IoT locks can be mechanically defeated using the same techniques you’d use to pick a regular lock. don’t they all have a regular key as a backup in case power goes out or whatever?
