just to be clear: taxes are higher in new york. median household income is lower in the new york city metropolitan area, and home prices are higher. but there is a subway in new york, so not every single thing was wrong.

wages for computer touchers are higher. home prices are indeed higher but not as ridiculous as a multiple of income

lastly: nyc has two subways and three commuter rail systems AND probably the best bus system in America. transit: we have it

Vs the NYC 8.875% sales tax my spending last year equated to an extra $716 in taxes, so I think it still comes out ahead of paying $6k in income tax

C++ hasn't been so bad since 11. My old work place mandated 03 because the openvms compiler didn't support any higher, getting to use 11+ in my current workplace was like night and day.
