Amazon currently has listings for at least two upcoming issues at the moment so I assume things are continuing at least. But we’ll see I guess (Sonic comics have a history of being abruptly cancelled after all, even Fleetway stopped after the Sonic Adventure arc and went into reruns for a bit before going away entirely)

From one page without full context, even though even with just that page it's obvious she's a race official and is kicking the gang out for apparently endangering others. Sonic fans are insane. There's some now trying to push the narrative that Frontiers is a worse game than Sonic 06, or even worse saying that 06 is actually good and is an underrated gem.

Honestly I think that could be it. Not that clip specifically, but now that Twitch is so huge, people that grew up with the game can watch others play, or just gameplay videos in general, or parodies, and see the game through rose-tinted glasses. Or it could be that they started liking it ironically but committed to the bit so hard it looped back around to unironically. Or both. The point is they're not actually playing (or have never even played) 06, so of course the new game they have played recently and don't like is worse in their heads

If they'd been allowed to finish it then it may have been more than just a punchline to the joke of the Sonic Cycle. I know I'd prefer a good version of what '06 was trying to be over Frontiers, but I recognize I'm in the minority.

Best case scenario this maybe ends with her in a Shadow-like role where she's heroic but just can't stand Sonic in particular. TwoPair fucked around with this message at 16:33 on Jul 18, 2024 |

Tangle's tail is starting to become a Looney Tunes entity. It won't be long before she's using it as a decoy and dressed in another pair of her clothes like a scarecrow or something.

Tangle does seem like she’d be fun to play as in a game however (I could see her using her tail to do stuff like preform acrobatics, attack enemies, latch onto things, grab and throw objects, etc)

It is telling that many of the major IDW originals have gimmicks to them that would make using them in a game more viable, though that's something Ian's been doing since the Archie days

Plus the IDW originals have already shown up in games. Sure, they're mobile games, and a single mention of Tangle in Frontiers, but they're actually playable in those mobile games!

I'm pretty sure that Whisper and Tangle have both been so astronomically popular from the get-go that that contributes to most of that. Like getting a mini series that quickly is pretty unique for the most part.

surge seems to have shelved the "kill sonic" impulse for now so she's groping around for a new purpose, and she enjoys adulation from others enough so that she could, conceivably, turn over a new leaf if she keeps the inferiority complex in check kit's codependency is something that could've possibly been conditioned out of him but as of the end of the overpowered arc he also hates pretty much everyone else on the planet, and that resentment creeps into whatever independent decision-making he has. fuzzy soggy misanthrope Oxxidation fucked around with this message at 02:12 on Oct 25, 2024 |
