Teddybear posted:Yeah, it gets more character driven in season 2, and it’s much less cringe comedy than season 1. Honestly, from season 2 on, the show holds up through the finale. I think that's kind of what hurt Ann (Rashida Jones' character) in the long run though. She's kind of built to be kind of a cringe comedy character and the rest of the show turns into something more akin to B99 or TGP.

Kristen Bell also does a small turn in Parks and Rec as a city council rep that I liked quite a bit. As the show went on, my tolerance for Ron Swanson and Tom Haverford goes way down, but the full Johnny Karate show is worth putting up with a lot. Plus the anti-Ron as played by freaking Sam Elliot. Maybe he will show up as a Good Place rep.

Hell I think her job was even harder once Adam Scott's character became involved in whackier concepts.

Yeah Rashida does a great job with the role, and Ann ends up supporting a lot of the other character's heartwarming moments. Parker Posey is pretty good in Josie and the Pussycats, which is also pretty good. I had a dream last night that tonight's episode started with Eleanor fixing Tahani's hair and then full-on making out and smash-cut to credits. Really disappointed in the writing.

But the tone it took was one I think people might be more open to now, if that makes sense? It's such a loving fun, good film. It's not perfect but it's hilarious and does its job well imo.
