nine-gear crow posted:Also given how long TV takes to make these days, Diego Luna at the end of a hypothetical Andor Season 5 would look comically old compared to how he looks in Rogue One. Eh, I don't think that's actually a real problem. He'd just look older. So what. The real fundamental issue is Tony Gilroy didn't want to spend a decade of his life making a Star Wars.

Given the shift away from streaming I think if they had aimed for 5 seasons they'd have been cancelled before they reached that goal.

Can't wait to see this bandied about for months based off of Tony saying "Yeah, that sounds neat, I bet Kathy will hear bout it". If it ever got made, it would end up being some nazi apologist trash with how things are going.

Dedra probably got released into that Imperial rehab program the New Republic was running and the irony would be that she finds zero difference between the way they run the galaxy versus the Empire and she's considered a model citizen. So it would be that Dr. Pershing episode of Mandalorian except good.

The irony is that Syril would have thrived in the republic. if he hadn't become so obsessed with Andor, he probably would have been rolled right into the republic bureaucracy.

If it ever got made, it would end up being some nazi apologist trash with how things are going. https://www.gamesradar.com/entertai...freak-flag-fly/ For what it's worth, apparently Gillory has said that LucasFilm as started going all-in on "really unusual" Star Wars projects, and his advice to wouldbe showrunners pitching ideas to Kennedy is to just swing for the fences. So I guess the one-two punch of The Acolyte failing and Andor succeeding past expectations has just cooked Disney and LucasFilm's C-Suites' brains and they've finally demolished the wall with the Pepe Silva corkboard mind map that says "WHAT WILL MAKE THE SHRIEKING VOLES SHUT UP?!" with the final answer apparently being "We don't give a poo poo anymore. Here's money. Make something and we'll call it a Star Wars. I'm going to go plow my Mercedes into a Hollister at the nearest strip mall at 250 mph. Good luck."

They start a combat polycule with Omega. She is a natural team builder, after all.

Now join your polycule and embrace your destiny as their leader: Vel: your foundation. A pure and uncomplicated soldier. Kleya: the heart and soul of your team. And Omega: the fiercest hunter of all your sisters. You are each a piece of a whole person, and the New Republic will call you to defend and give your lives, if need be. FlamingLiberal posted:As much as I would have liked 5 seasons, I don't think they could have kept up the quality for that long Yes, having just finished it S2 was already weaker than the first, even before the obligatory "line everything up for R1" stuff. Which don't get me wrong, was still very fun & good for as forced as it was. But a longer series would have been pushing it's luck, the ratio of genuinely good to typical prestige tv stuff would have gotten bad.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmuVGSnwFLg To be honest, much as I love Alex Ferns as Mosk, I was happy seeing where his character ended in Season 1. Him offering Luthen a drink and that leading him to join the Rebellion feels a bit too similar to the way Luthen later recruits Erskine at the wedding. Like, everyone Luthen talks to eventually becomes a complicit agent.

It could have been interesting, just like a potential Syril face turn. Andor is a story about how people make the leap from surviving under authoritarianism to rebelling against it. The one perspective we were really missing was someone who was a true believer in all the "positive" virtues that the empire extolled on its subjects but finally has their eyes opened to the true purpose of the imperial machine.

That was Syril for the brief moment between his disillusionment with Dedra and his white hot rage for Cassian overriding his nascent conscience.
