I run into plenty of people irl who are casual Star Wars fans and they love it, and to them I’m happy to throw a “hell yeah, love me some ewan.” But we’re thinkers here.

I don’t know man, like I didn’t like the sequel trilogy, don’t really like Solo and Book of Boba Fett was fairly bad but I like this show. Thinking about it I could be a little biased seeing as Ewan was one of the first actors I’ve ever seen in theatre when I saw the premier of the phantom menace when I was a kid but I just enjoy it. Of course there are parts I  at like when Ben runs down to Leia from the rooftop but other than that I think it’s good. The only issue with it I truly have so far is I was yearning for more in the fight with Ben and Vader just needing them to talk more but I’m sure we’ll get more of that later on in the show.

It's... fine. I was one of those people who didn't care at all for that "Kenobi v. Vader fight on the Death Star reimagined" thing, either.

The ore pit scene was full-up Vader as horror movie monster, and suddenly appearing when you turn around is what monsters do (just like he did to Luke in Cloud City). The blocking was off on the final escape--they probably should have gone with the fire blinding the Imps momentarily and then when they recover, Obi-Wan has vanished.

This show can go either way for me. I liked episode 1, half of episode 2 (mostly the location. I love Star Wars seedy underbelly’s) and 3 was kind of a dud to me due to the Vader stuff.

It’s got 3 episodes left. It could pick up. I kinda wish leia wasn’t that big of a part in the show just because I would rather have more Obi Wan alone contemplating everything and just going for more of a silent movie vibe. But it’s aight.

There wasn't any talk of a chosen one in episodes 4-6, just that the Force runs strong in the Skywalker family. That was added in 1-3 and, in my opinion, was unnecessary for that story except as a way to nod and go "okay the Sith are REALLY extinct now."

It was always lurking in the periphery, since the earliest drafts. I'm pretty sure it even gets a mention in the ANH novel way back when.

That was pretty intense, huh?

That the producers or whoever are allegedly scrambling to mandate script re-writes so they can greenlight a 2nd season really is emblematic of the show's mediocreness imo.

They had to add in Vader saying "maclunky" as he I Must Go My Planet Needs Me's out of Kenobi's reach to set up their true absolute second-to-last-duel-prior-to-ANH, set during ANH, where they duel outside the burning Lars homestead while Luke is out looking for Artoo

I was honestly hoping for a conclusion in a few weeks. I don't think there needs to be another season of this and I just wanted the satisfaction of watching the whole story.

But oh well, more Ewan.

We're going to find out that Obi-Wan actually kills them and sets the farm on fire to radicalize Luke. :getin:

Wasn’t gonna listen anyway. :v:

But seriously it is easier to go ahead and post about the entire Star Wars universe in one thread and this should be the thread to do it. Everything just comes together eventually just like Kenobi is a direct result of the prequel movies. We pretty much do it in the MCU TV thread too.

I'm skeptical on it as well, but it's also Disney and they will drive anything into the ground for some more money. Also MakingStarWars got a lot of their leaks and rumors right regarding what we've seen so far

They had either recorded an alternate ending in case season 2 got greenlit or the most they can do at this stage is have a voiceover where they type "Send in my most loyal subordinate... Glup Shitto" into their Darth Hatsune synthesizer over some unused footage of Mustafar.

There were plenty of stories that could have been told where she could have been a great character, and even in the bad movies we got if she was written like a real person instead of being perfect. I'm not saying she is one out of bigotry, I wanted to like her as a character.

I love that Obi Wan sucks at everything so far. I mean that sincerely. I like that he can't talk to Qui Gon, any time he uses or feels the Force it's like someone dumped a bucket of ice water on him, and he's afraid of his lightsaber. Among all the goofiness and the TV trope "Oh no! Fire! My greatest weakness!" stuff, Ewan is really acting the hell out of this and Vivien Blair is doing great as Leia.
