I just re-read the published Viz volumes and she had several nice moments in the Bond arc. The first time around I didn't catch the connection between her hinted backstory (what she says to the student-terrorists) and her sympathetic statement to Anya that Bond had had a hard life and deserved to be treated well.
So just to be sure that I'm reading between the lines right here: Wellman was indeed having an affair with a mob boss's wife. The Mob boss found out and used his connections to run stories exaggerating what happened as well as other stories falsely accusing him of treason as payback.
I'd say it's intentionally vague. My read on it was Wellman was having all the affairs, and WISE was behind the counter-stories. One scummy guy being called decent is a small price for world peace.

Yeah, I know some anvils need to be dropped regarding how you consume information, but gat-dang that rookie was getting on my nerves for the whole story. How he ended up in Intelligence is beyond me.

You're a smart guy [that works for a spy network], fuckin' figure it out yourself." Same. It got brought up on Reddit or Tropes that it's actually a good story about how simple rumors and stories can get blown up by mixing a little truth into it(mob affair was true, but everything else was likely exaggerated BS, but my mixing the two the public can't tell truth from fiction). This as well as the Rokkies ineptitude were likely intentionally to drive the message home HARD.

I been thinking about whether or not the anime not explicitly saying the gym teacher is Billy is funnier or not. Its kinda funny as is right now.

That's the entire joke, he's a 6 year old who looks like an adult. Like him being the gym teacher makes no sense with his only other appearance in the manga where he gets a tonitrus for being out of uniform. You know the punishment for students.
The confusion is coming from the gym teacher actually being named Billy in the anime. Billy the gym teacher and Bill Watkins (6) are two different people.

Do authors run do multiple series or is Endo planning to end Spy X Family before next Spring?

It's an old series from like 2007. The tweet should probably be clearer about that.

Oh weird, I originally saw it in a retweet that made it clear it was an earlier series and I didn't even realize that Viz's announcement did not

IIRC, there was interview with Endo where he said that he was in some serious creative slump and that Spy x Family basically reinvigorated his love for writing, so I don't think he will abandon it anytime soon. Another reason would be the fact that it's one of the most popular shonen manga currently and basically prints money.

Turns out Chainsaw Man (well, Fire Punch) was a factor in him getting back into making manga. There's something really nice about seeing the stops and starts before he really got running with Spy x Family. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITi6n3z-gdk

It's still interesting to me that Endo's editor told him to go work as an assistant for a rookie a decade plus younger than he was. You need a lot of trust to do something like that without it being very awkward for everyone involved.

Huh, so they are starting the dog arc AND doing the bonus chapter with 2 episodes left until the end of season 1? That's....interesting. (I will laugh my rear end off if they end the season with the clocktower cliffhanger.)

Oh right, the first cour is only 12 episode and second is 13, I thought it was the other way around for some reason. Then yeah, Bond is just a teaser for second season.

It doesn't really have any particular continuity, so there's no harm in that. The aquarium chapter they're doing next episode is an earlier bonus chapter if I recall.

It also has a followup chapter where Bond gets jealous of Anya's penguin doll and tears it apart that I assume they are also doing.

After watching the most recent anime episode, I feel like the physical-therapy boy Anya saved in the pool is going to show up later (maybe muuuuuch later) as some sort of athletic prodigy from the local public school and Damian and him are gonna have a sports-off for unspoken, but extremely, very definitely loudly thought, crush reasons.
