it's an extremely good premise set in a very unique setting with excellent artwork and action and a cast of entirely likeable characters including one extremely marketable one. there's really not much mystery to why it took off like a rocket.

I think it helps it's also pretty easy to recommend. Aside from some of Yor's violence being a bit extreme it doesn't really have any of the Warning Moments I can think of. It's just a doofy goofy adorable comedy that sometimes has serious moments or violence.

To be serious, four quadrant appeal doesn't refer to genres, it refers to the four major demographics of movie-goers - under-25 female, under-25 male, over-25 female, over-25 male. Including comedy, action, and a touch of romance is a good way to hit the quadrants, though not the only one.

What's up with Yor's brother being all weird and possessive about her? I'm on volume 5 and I get that she took care of him when they were little blah blah blah, but like hes jealous of Anya because she has a connection to his sister is odd. Is this like a manga trope or something?
