It's sad and horrific when people die in war, it's funny when Yor kills people (or dreams about killing people, like when she thought about killing a dude whose only sin was that his son got accepted to the school when Anya did not so Yor could make a vacancy for Anya).

And it's right after a silly story where Anya runs a gauntlet of silly tests (during which Loid is literally puppeting her on strings) against a bunch of other literal children to dance with Damian. I'm not saying it's bad, it just makes me think of the "wow cool robot" Gundam meme only it's "ha family antics" and Endo's just popping in to remind us all that war is hell and preventing it is ultimately the whole mission.

I've been loving these chapters because all this grim poo poo being the underlying motivation for the Forgers (even Anya in her way) is what keeps this comic from literally just being Spy x Spy where they play house when not trying to kill each other

For me this feels darker than Loid's flashback because here we see all the horrific things happening . One of the women getting shot in the head is a normal sized panel and treated as something that just happens on the battlefield. On the whole, I'm really liking this detour, but at the same time I don't know how much more it can hold my interest. Feels like it's best to end in the next couple chapters.

I suspect there will eventually be more of a buildup of Yor and Lloyd's relationship, either Loid relizing he actually likes having a family and likes Yor, and vice versa. Otherwise it'll likely be hard to wrap up the series.
