I refuse to believe that there's ever been a piece of media that introduced God drat Merlin and there's no magic present. The exceptions being A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court and Camelot 3000 of course.

The only one that comes to mind for me is Transformers: The Last Knight, but that probably disqualifies itself by the Clarke clause.

Ah gently caress, you got me and it's on a Transformers one.
Be that as it may, unless anything with Merlin in it says otherwise it's effin magic.

It is kind of eerie how well this has been ramping up alongside the panic over here in not-moominland.

Amazing, that is an impressively lazy trace.
I especially like how either the hand got traced off the wrong frame, or he drew a new one and couldn't be bothered to clean up the old one.
Some serious ghosthand going on there.

Fortunately/unfortunately the Groke won't make an on-screen appearance (well except as my avatar).

I wonder how long it will take Bernice, an alleged smart person, to realize there IS still a party, just Tiff isn't at it. (Unless her only goal in the first place was to bust Tiff. A true friend!)

SubNat
Nov 27, 2008

I think a huge part of that is how people who fear the Groke almost exclusively were exposed to her super super early as kids.
And with the 90s series she wasn't presented as sympathetic in her early appearances. (Even though she was just trying to reclaim her stolen property.)

If anyone wants to be reintroduced to her, the official moomin channel on youtube does have large chunks of the series up for free.
(Probably because so much of it is on dead media like VHS otherwise, and I imagine local distribution rights and etc from the 90s make it a huge hassle to rerelease the series?)
(Only in english though unfortunately. So no local-language nostalgia for us nordics there. )

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-WWdLx0V1Y
The 2-part where she shows up is ep 6+7.

They do seem stretched/wide though, I guess they just stretched the old series, either when uploading, or for the DVD/etc they sourced the uploads from.
Which is a shame.
