I wonder, if one of Holbrook's strips ended, would the other two increase in quality or would he just have a backlog so long they'd still be printing them years after his death? Edit: I don't know why, but I am highly amused by human-Sherman.

Holbrook has been dead 3 years now. The strips just keep appearing, despite everyones attempts to stop them.

FrumpleOrz posted:On The Fastrack Between the "a bride who doesn't make it all about her" comment and how Leon handled her wedding plans in Kevin & Kell, Holbrook has some really weird ideas about brides. So the mermaids are trying to claim Earth and Mars' waters for themselves? The reason DNA Wizard pulled off that stupid poo poo about adopting Mars was to prevent anyone on Earth from trying to lay any sort of claim to Mars. Had to look up what those words on the last panel meant since I thought that it was another joke about cannibalism in hellworld. Of course Holbrook's gonna sneak in a reminder about pregnancy to the wedding couple.

Ok, another translation challenge for Surgeon's Tales. We got two characters: "förvaltare" - I translated this as "steward" earlier, other options were "manager", "administrator" and "warden". Apparently someone who is higher ranked than most of the other servants and takes care of the house while the lord is away. "hofmästare" - literally "court-master" or "house-master", https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hofmeister_(office). In Finnish language this term usually refers "butler". I like that, because short words are easier to fit in bubbles, but I'm not sure if it's a good choice here. Higher rank than förvaltare. I presume he's the count's highest ranked servant. One of the original English editions used "steward" and "head-steward", but I'm not too keen on that. I picked house-master for hofmästare in today's strips, but I'm not happy with that either, and I'd be glad to hear other people's opinions. Surgeon's Tales ![]() https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Reduction_(Sweden) The king realized that having a bunch of filthy rich aristocrats is a bad idea and seized their lands. ![]() Nancy ![]() ![]() Dustin ![]() Mandrake ![]() Moomintroll and the End of the World ![]() e. oh oh, masculine pronoun for the Groke who is usually referred with feminine pronouns. Trans icon alert!

Dangit I'm right at the end and I nearly missed a day! My bad. Bad Machinery ![]() quote:Lottie tries to arrange a bold new romance for her mother, but Mrs Grote has other ideas. You may remember the last time she dated a man who spent most of his time in the sewers. It wasn't that great. ![]() quote:So this is it, the final Bad Machinery! Be sure to read this story from the start to enjoy it as it was meant to be read. We'll see these characters again in new forms, but the six month long mystery team yarns are done. Mystery will always be an issue in Tackleford, and perhaps a new team of solvers will emerge at some future point, but for now, we're done. Whatever happens next though, fear not, comics will continue from Monday at Scary Go Round. THANKS FOR READING! quote:This is the last Bad Machinery strip. If you want to keep reading my comics, there are lots of places to do that – the GIANT DAYS and BY NIGHT series of books from Boom!Box, the huge archive of my other webcomics at scarygoround.com and bobbins.horse, or my new comic STEEPLE (in print and with new pages Mo-We-Fr at the steeple.church website). It's kind of nice how the Case of the Team Spirit (not counting the Brief Preamble) started with Shauna & Lottie, and the last case ends with them too. I'm...not sure what to do, now. Manuel Calavera posted:That is the worst loving Betty Boop I've ever seen. I scrolled back up to see what this was about and it's off in all the right places. First, the lips need to be scaled down, the small puckered lips are as iconic as the whole character herself. Second, she should not have a bridge to her nose, adding that just exaggerates the Flintstones style nose this guy draws that is off model as is. And finally, the eyes are too high up and close set. It's like Reddick gis'd a reference, got all the elements together but just didn't bring the spirit of it together.

All the images I saw have them going up at a 45 degree angle, and then they're thicker at the highest point on the forehead. Oh, and the eyes. The pupils should have a sliver taken out of them, not a white spot in them.
