As I recall, I had to run the cycle more than once to get it to cook through, it never really browned, and it was extremely unappetizing to try to eat. Beyond that, my memory of it is pretty hazy, it was several years ago.

I learned a pretty nice pastry-tart recipe of one of those 5 minute crafts videos. They're a hilarious mix of 'probably useful', 'will amuse your kid for 10min', 'utterly terrible and ugly idea', and 'downright dangerous do not do this what the hell' (like adding plastic toys to candles to reveal as they burn, with the likely result of filling your house with the heady fumes of burned plastic if you attempted it). The ones where they paint walls are my favourite, it always looks hideous and they have the model relax with a book like the wall behind her doesn't look like her kid tracked poster paint up it with a toy car.

Once again, Holbrook inadvertently makes the characters and setting pretty terrible. A new species appears and instead of asking how they can live together in peace, one of their first questions is how the mermaids can hurt them, and the mermaid rep sounding threatening with his, "We'd never kill you, but.." Johnny Walker posted:UUUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH Not gonna lie, I groaned out loud when I saw this. It would've been fine if this had been like a lesson on what to do when a creep suddenly kisses you, especially since Dawn didn't look like she was happy about it yesterday, but the writer seems determined to go with the worst direction when it comes to Wilbur and Dawn. Again, there's nothing wrong with taking a break from the constant stress of studying, or to lie to avoid having to deal with a tyrannical RA determined to get you into trouble. Gunther and that sarcastic look he's giving Bets in the last panel can go gently caress right off.

The entire human race changing their minds about a policy they've been following for ages within the span of like one day has got to be the stupidest and most unrealistic thing Holbrook's ever said in his comics. I'm amazed at Holbrook's restraint for not making the snake eat someone who's still alive this time. DO YOU GET THEIR GIMMICK YET? WELL DO YOU?

You know, if King Arthur just started a public works program and widened some roads and bridges, there'd be a lot less needles violence. Anyway, in Juliet Jones, Don's precisely-timed plan is running along ![]()

I read once that this was actually a serious issue in ancient times. To the point that the Oedipus mythos may in fact have been constructed in part from the basic civic lesson of how murdering random people you meet in the road over petty disagreements is a bad thing. Today that's about the last thing we remember about the Oedipus mythos but the extremely stupid circumstances Oedipus kills his dad in the first place and the increasingly outrageously horrific consequences of that bad decision really do emphasize how you shouldn't murder random strangers in the road just because they looked at you funny.

It's the very first Moomin comic she made for a Finnish newspaper six years before she was hired by The Evening News. Only five strips left, btw.
