Having not read it before, I'm glad they added the backdrop and mentioned Heart was in middle school. With the char designs, I thought they were all 20 something age characters. I don't mind the designs but newspaper comics have this problem a lot I've noticed.

Mämmilä why do you keep doing this? What did we ever do to you?   This is still not the mess of a tiny dog with no thumbs. How could he even grip the crayon? Also I don't know how old Puddles is supposed to be, but he's at least an adult and possibly getting into old age. If he's been cool chilling in by himself all his life and now suddenly is tearing up the house out of nowhere, it might be worth being curious about why.

Dykes to Watch Out For #46 (1988) This one presumably came out right after the 1988 presidential elections, in which George H.W. Bush was elected. Apartheid in South Africa came to be officially phased out over the course of the 90s, and held its first general election with universal suffrage in 1994, in which Nelson Mandela was elected president. This strip always reminds me of the huge amount of absences I saw teaching the week after the 2016 election. Sam's Strip (2/2/1962)
