The funny thing is that it would have been so easy to interweave the original panels here, which would have a great effect (except for the whole "the comic sucked then too" thing, of course), but he was too lazy to do that obvious thing.

Then all that's left to fight over is who got more shaky cheese. A lot of th etime the fighting is more, I don't want sauce it's yucky. They just want spaghetti and ketchup.

Usually we don't bother mixing, but the sauce is just in the sauce pan and left on the turned off stove. We cook most of our sauces in a wide and deep stainless pan like this, just get a ladle. We never actually put the food in serving dishes on the table, you go to the stove and get your food, then to the table. ![]() What we tend to do is put the pasta in the sauce pan later and mix it all up, then put the whole sauce pan in the fridge. Then I use the leftovers to make lunch for work the next morning, and perhaps the morning after.

The Boondocks comic was extremely variable even at the time. It spent a lot of time mocking C+ TV and pop stars who I barely even knew about as I had better things to do than watch bad TV. The political bothsiderism is absurd now that we've seen what Bush did to our country (and others), but even at the time it got silly. But sometimes McGruder could really hit it out of the park, and it did seem really fresh amidst all those stale Caucasian-American legacy strips on the comics page. Part of the problem was likely that McGruder famously found it very difficult to make a joke every day, so he fell back on cheap shots.

The Boondocks has some great episodes and some okay ones. I just remember the lemonade stand episode, though, because it made me furious when I was younger. I used to think it was a little over the top but then I read an amitheasshole post the other day from a mom who called the cops on a kid running a lemonade stand in her neighborhood and it turns out people really are that evil.

He wants someone he pops a boner over rather than someone who has chemistry with the lead (who is nothing like him). He is chickweed level horny for his idealised deadwife.
