I mean, all healthy ultrasounds pretty much look the same, and she only saw it for a few minutes, I don't think she can definitively say that's THE one.

Also reminder that Madi is a teenager who just suffered the loss of a parental figure. (and her remaining one is immediately jetting off to do work in Venezuela for a few months) You don't have to be great with kids to realize that might cause some acting out.

Yes and no--I posted the two most relevant strips here before but I'll drop them again.

He's not allowed to write the script again, because that's what he specifically ruined last time, but for some reason he gets intimate input on literally everything else. His input to this point has ranged from pouty doubt to outright antagonism.

I mean she is being insufferable but he totally did gently caress all to set expectations before she hosed up.

Oh I was misremembering the exact wording of the first comic.

Well, that was a dumb decision on Actor Guy's part.

Ugh, I know I'm going to regret asking, but how did he actually torpedo the production? As a script writer, it's not like he can't be replaced productions bring in new writers all the time. Someone really poo poo the bed on that contract, like wooooo

And his reaction to having his unspoken rules broken was yelling at her, which moody teenagers totally respond well to, right?

(ok, "don't be mean to the dog" should go without saying, but the rest of it is 'you need to set expectations before getting pissed off that people don't read your mind and meet them'.)

I'm also assuming her insufferability is exaggerated because this is Mary Worth trying to write someone below age 40, honestly.

Not only did he choose to kill the production, he got paid a "kill fee" for it

which in my understanding is usually paid if something else kills the production

The contract was to set up a passion play where Les' faith and duties as the witness to the miracle of Saint Lisa would be tested by the soulless liberals of Hollywood attempting to profane her miracle of... dying of an ugly but very common disease. I give, this isn't even interesting bad anymore like the horrible Bull storyline.

Ok, I'm not even in the same universe as hollywood productions or anything but I'm pretty sure the only person who has the power to unilaterally kill a production is a studio head or similar, not the writer/creative consult person/book-this-is-based-on author. Like holy poo poo I want to read this contract because goddamn is it a fuckup of epic proportions.

Shows how much I pay attention to the details because I know I've been around since the first run at the lisa movie was made but gently caress me if I can recall any details

COMICS CRIMINAL
Grimey Drawer
I have absolutely no evidence to support this but

I think that Ann's plan was basically to just keep it hidden away so use at a later date in the event of any sudden argument or threat to her lifestyle and that Tiffany has caused it to spring early.

And I am praying that this leads to Tiffany's father calmly, but angrily, ejecting Ann from his life and shortly from the comic.

And then while I'm dreaming, the comic gets abruptly cancelled, or they pull a Nancy on it and replace the entire team with someone less infuriating.
