I like Zelda a lot more now that she's not constantly being a complete poo poo to her best friend.
Both of these combined make the best day of Mr Boop yet.

Nostalgamus posted:

I've been going through some of my parents' old books, which include some old Peanuts collections (translated to norwegian). Now that I've actually read a lot of the strip in english, there are a few things with the translation that really jump out.

The immediately noticable one is renaming Charlie Brown to "Alexander Balthasar Brun" (the last name is more or less a direct translation, while the former is...not). This is obviously too long for anyone to actually use, so everyone calls him "Baltus". A side effect of this is that the whole "Chuck" thing with Peppermint Patty never happens, she just calls him the same thing as everyone else.

An even weirder choice is Joe Shablotnik, who I can't even say is translated - every reference is replaced by RINGO STARR, for some reason beyond my comprehension.

And yes, this does mean there's a strip of Charlie Brown bying "Beatles Gum" and somehow failing a 25% chance a hundred times in a row:

Also featuring a crude edit to the throwaway panels to remove the baseball cap.
 That's hilarious

Wasn't Michael the son who came out gay but Lynn couldn't handle it so she wrote in a dead accident victim as his fake girlfriend/wife?

And why is Lynn keeping her son away from his girlfriend anyway? Isn't dating in junior high a normal and healthy thing to be encouraged?

He was, although idk when this storyline was relative to irl Michael's coming out. And Lynn is keeping comic-Mike away from his girlfriend because she's a toxic person who doesn't actually want her children to be happy or doing things she didn't specifically tell them to do.

I got super busy this week and couldn't post Luann. Figures this is a week something actually happens!

So the last Luann I posted, Tiff's Dad described the revelation that Ann is a poo poo as "heartbreaking." I definitely interpreted that as his saying that he felt sorry for Ann, thinking she had to deceive him to win his love when he loved her already. I was sure this week we'd be back to more of the same making GBS threads on Tiff. It didn't even cross my mind that he was talking about his own heartbreak. I am glad to see that I grossly misinterpreted what that strip was trying to say!

Both the actor and the agent look familiar to me. I think he's lightboxing/tracing pics of some real people. The blonde might be Trump's new press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, but I can't find any exact match pictures. There are a lot of similar looking "Fox News blondes". The actor looks REALLY familiar, but I can't place him.

Eliminating the drama of Tiff and her dad/Anne Eiffel would be killing off a huge source of any drama the strip has. Like who else are they gonna focus on? Gunther and co are super low stakes, Luann is paste, Tiffany is the only genuinely interesting being in the comic and all her problems are sourced from her dad & anne
