Vintage Valiant (Sep. 01, 1940)![]() ![]() I haven't been able to solve the rainbow effect around some of the lettering, so I've increased the image size to assist readability. edit: Incidentally, Val still wears Chekhov's magic necklace in the modern strips. Is it there in the original? Otherwise I can only assume it's some weird refractive effect in the lens, but that would show up on other things. I can't think of why it would be a software artefact.

I'll give the thing a good cleaning but maybe it's just getting old in some way I don't understand. Kennel posted:Is the donkey ok? ^It is interesting how that old timey diving helmet has become such a trope. Anyway, there’s really only one problem with this, which is that if a fire had spread from Malibu to West Hollywood, probably no newscaster would be standing just feet away from it because it would be a thirty-mile wall of flame that managed to jump two freeways, destroy the Getty Center and several extremely wealthy neighborhoods, and just generally be an insane catastrophe that would send literally millions of people fleeing pell-mell from the destruction! ![]() Crankshaft ![]() ![]() 9 Chickweed Lane ![]() ![]() Rip Haywire ![]() Thimble Theater (March 11, 1937) ![]()

B. Virtanen![]() It's not really common to use "sir" in Finnish; a more accurate translation would've been something like "nope, CEO" or "nope, leader". But tbh I don't think that many companies require that kind of adressing, either. The most common formal form of adressing someone is to use the plural You (te) instead of the singular you (sinä).
