I beg your pardon? How, exactly, do you think do you they got all those 15th century fashions to Castle Andelkrag?

The "Moslems" are mocking them because they use it *better*. Much better, evidently.

I work in a kindergarten and one of the kids called me daddy all the time. Another time I went to shop with one of the kids and the cashier referred to me as daddy and asked the kid if it was fun to go to the shop with daddy. I was too perplexed to point out that both the kid and I were wearing a yellow reflective vest with the name of the kindergarten on it.

Anyways I haven't done any googling on Cathy yet, so no idea who the author is or what she's working from, but this is just a weird little window into newspaper strip history and as long as I keep myself to one comic at a time I can post it.

For a little context, here are a few articles that ran close to the strip’s premiere:

Battle Creek Enquirer

Just for fun, here’s Cathy and any comic featuring a woman in the Detroit Free Press on November 24, 1976. It gives an idea of where comics were at that point.

TJ. You work in a professional kitchen. For a living. You are, in fact, co-owner of that kitchen. I'm sure you can swing it with your boss to let you cook some paella in there.

And now, since we are endeavoring to be a kinder, gentler Comic Strip thread, I will say something nice. I'm glad Tiff is still working, even though her financial situation has improved. The dickbags in the comment section appear to have assumed that Tiff's dad is making her work so that his ENTITLED LITTLE BRAT can learn that MONEY DOESN'T APPEAR OUT OF NOWHERE, but that's not my read at all. Tiff had to work for her own money to survive for a good long while, so she should know all of that very well already. I read it more as Tiff now understands that if you are dependent on somebody else for your financial security the purse strings can be cut at any time and wreck your whole drat life. It's better to always have a way to make an income of your own in case you ever need to get away from some controlling jerk. That's a good lesson. Time will tell if that's really what the Evanses are going for here.

Moomin's Desert Island

I feel I need a copy of Moominmamma's book, in the second-to-last panel.

e: I know the moomin strips are already pretty big, but is there any interest in me posting them at 'native' size?
They're scaled to 1000px wide when I post them, but at ~1400, which is what I scanned them in at, you avoid the scaling patterns in areas like the 'ancestors on a cloud' panel.
And they are a lot sharper and nicer.
Is there any interest in me doing them at full size, or should I just keep at it at 1000px width? I just really like how gorgeous and sharp it gets, with every detail visible and readable.
