Trap sprung, etc. In Chinese tho that's sorta meaningless, but 刀 by itself means knife (but would never be sword in normal contexts, thats 剪刀), and the ad was from some weeb asking for Japanese things which is why I thought the items themselves might make more sense in Japanese. The other crap around the edges of that pic were like "golden pear" and then some mish mash of characters about textiles. Bushmiller actually almost wrote 天 but he added a dot underneath it rendering it random nonsense.

I'm just popping into this thread to say that Peanuts edits (or edits of other comics for that matter!) with the n-word in them might be a little too spicy for this thread. So please refrain from posting that sort of thing from now on!

Mr. Monster is a comic book hero created by Michael T. Gilbert in 1984 and published by a string of independent presses, based on a 1940s character of the same name but revised to be more of a goofy, over-the-top kind of pulp pastiche (some of the time... there's a much more serious melodrama arc when the series pops over to Dark Horse in the late 80s). When Eclipse was republishing old EC 1950s horror comics, Mr. Monster also had little framing stories where he introduced them Cryptkeeper style. Why is he in Funky Winkerbean? I don't know. I think Mr. Monster has had some team-ups before, but this may be the first time he's teamed up with a comic that absolutely sucks poo poo.

Batiuk didn't even have the decency to give this guy a space gun or anything. This is just an rear end in a top hat cop wandering around during Halloween with a 9mm and doped out enough to think he's an actual superhero. So not only is the baby completely aware of everything despite being a few months old, she's also killed a grown-up and countless smaller creatures by now. Going by the in-universe logic, this baby should be Hellworld's anti-Christ.

Surgeon's Tales The second part of the Book 3 ends here. Next up, political scheming. Nancy Dustin Haha, Kelley got us. Mandrake I don't really understand how that helped to save the world. A single metal man was clearly just a nuisance and it didn't seem to do anything to get more of them to the Earth. Kennel fucked around with this message at 09:30 on Oct 30, 2020 |

RandomPauI posted:Did interspecies relationships just not happen until Kevin and Kel hooked up? If I'm not mistaken, both Corrie (the sheep on Bruno's back) and Fiona (Rudy's girlfriend) are the product of interspecies relationships, but I don't think the comic's said that yet.

Also Rudy is half fox on his dad's part. But it's not really interspecies relationships that are frowned upon, it's predator-prey relationships. Like, Rudy and Fiona are different species but no one has any objections about them; same with Lindesfarne and Fenton. In this case I have to give it to Holbrook, it's a good parallel for how queer relationships were seen starting in the mid nineties.

Doomykins posted:Running out of fuel Sam's plane begins to drop You know what would have been cool? Showing the plane bleeding inertia for a short, steep climb after it ran out of fuel. Then you have him get ready to leap out as that short range missile thing is deployed so you have some kind of tension if he will escape in time out of the proverbial sitting duck. And because a missile is gonna blow his plane up he leaps down onto that other guys plane to get one of those adventurous explosions behind the protag shots that have you on the edge of your seat.
