Hagar loving his family is just the best. ![]() Strips like this where they don't even bother pretending the baby's a baby is why I hate Daddy Daze. Johnny Walker posted:
So if Wilbur hasn't talked to Hugo yet, I take it that Wilbur just never bothered speaking to Dawn when he got back from overseas? It would be completely on-brand for Wilbur to ignore his kid while he goes and makes a fool of himself with Estelle. Last time we got into it, he posted to his own page for three days without @-ing me, thinking he was talking to me the whole time. I also sincerely kinda think whatever petty revenge plot he's had for my character, if he had one at all, has been forgotten by now. I got attacked by a bear, and now he's going forward with whatever the plot idea was that he had before.

Ghostlight posted:For a lot of the historically-located strips I like to google references to things, basically just to see if they're references and whether it's some extra wink-wink-nod-nod storytelling. Thanks for reminding me of this song from that album. It's the closest thing to a drunk guy impersonation that I actually like. Or he actually got drunk before singing this song! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOT-XHsG4ss

Yeah, Esallen doesn't have a clue how Twitter works, which probably contributed to him being so cranky when he was using it. He thought I was tagging Tiggum in every message when I responded to a thread between them.

Barnaby (July 6-July 7, 1942)![]() Dykes to Watch Out For ![]() The bit about the "transsexual marine" has not aged especially well. You can see Bechdel's attitude towards trans women kind of evolve in real time over the course of the strip, but it does not begin in a very sympathetic place, although a lot of that is arguably attributable to Mo as kind of an rear end in a top hat. unfortunately i don't think bechdel ever 100% truly got over her weird hangups about trans people. ![]() like i wouldn't say she's out-and-out hateful towards the trans community by any stretch, but i also wouldn't entirely trust her in relation to it. it's a really, incredibly bad book.
