Seriously what is Kelley's problem with women?

Could have used a bit more explanation, imo. I had no idea what it was supposed to be about. I guess it's a reference to that thing comics do where the new year is a baby and the current year is an old man? Just seeing an injured (homeless?) old man doesn't automatically bring that to mind for me.
I had to think about it for a second to get it, but that just made me appreciate it more.

Merihaka, where the mother and daughter live, and Siltasaari are both in Helsinki. Tarmo Koivisto himself also lives in Merihaka so I assume this is pretty accurate, though there is no Alko near a pier in Siltasaari today.

If you ever plan to visit Finland, Alko is the government-owned chain of stores that has a monopoly on hard liquor, wine and beer over 5.5%

I would love the see the Overboard guy do the same gag. The guy would be like, lost inside a very friendly looking paisley sofa.

Basically just enter your custom text, and after that put all the gang tags you want inside [img] tags.

So for instance...
code:
Here is some custom text followed by the Sluggo is Lit gang tag.
[img]https://fi.somethingawful.com/images/gangtags/sluggo.gif[/img]
Or here is mine

code:
[b]*blep*[/b]

[img]https://fi.somethingawful.com/images/gangtags/tradgames.gif[/img]

Ah, thank you kindly, I tried that first, but was worried as the preview did not actually reflect it --- because I just copy/pasted the url, and forgot to prefix [url]https://[/url] to it, which explains it.
Also the whole thing about the page says that img, timg and video tags are forbidden, made me a bit unsure.

Stand back! Mo's in a mood!

Dykes to Watch Out For #119 (1991)

This one hits home for me because I'm a lesbian with serious plans to raise a baby in the near future. My wife and I (well, my wife especially) are also both in more respectable careers than we probably thought we'd be in in our twenties. Anyway I'm always happy with the strips where Mo is just sitting in somebody else's house being a pill.

My only gripe with his art in general is that I’ve always felt he can’t convey movement very well. Everything looks very static to me.

It’s a moot point regardless, good gags are good.

While rummaging through old newspapers looking for more The Timid Soul, I found this 1937 curiosity.

It's by Howard Baer, about whom I haven't been able to find very much, and it was called "Too Late to Classify". It was in the middle of a page of classified ads, and it may have been intended solely to advertise the concept of help-wanted ads.

It feels kind of Kliban-ish, except that if Kliban had done it, the words would be "gently caress" and "poo poo", etc.

I really like that whenever Mo's being a huge jerk or giving the others a sermon, the other characters push back and aren't afraid to tell her off. Yes, Jez did a jerk move by hiring someone else when it was implied that she promised that she would promote either Mo or Lois, but Mo homing in on Thea's disability as the reason she got hired is really assholish.

for me that's always been a strength of his art. i feel like the way farside is presented mimics being a work of art, the framed single panel with statement underneath mirroring that of an old painting, framed, with title embossed beneath. it asks you to consider it not just as a piece of art, but as art on display, as a museum goer to the absurd, unreal, world it inhabits and documents. the frozen images of his subjects conveying that we aren't intended to be the first-hand witnesses of these accounts, aren't peeking into this world ourselves through the work of the artist, but are instead fully reliant on the artist to capture it and put it on display.
