If it was a few years earlier, I would've thought it might refer to the practice of sneaking out to international waters to escape Prohibition, but that was all over by 1937. There were still gambling and casino ships that anchored outside the three-mile limit to avoid gambling laws, though, so maybe that?

I just remembered that Funky Winkerbean had a plot where a woman was detained by ICE and the pizza place called Bill Clinton and I never did see how it was resolved, so I looked it up and he seriously had it resolved by having Clinton ring up ICE and be like "Hey release this one woman you have in custody" and also there was a lawyer named Amicus loving Breef and this is one of the worst things I've ever read. I hate this so much.

Yeah, Overboard isn't good with accurate depictions of animals, but unlike Holbrook those inaccurate depictions don't become important plot points. Gophers and weasels look nothing alike! Not to mention everything else!

Edit: I'm going to be honest, I assumed those were dogs dressed as reindeer when I read that.
