Oh, cool, thanks! I [do not speak Korean] assumed "semiconductor factory" was used to imply "somewhere sterile that isn't medical." Looking forward to strips about Parasite's Oscar sweep.

It's a bit tangential to bring up here but Parasite's actually a really good example of the kind of translation I abhor, where specific references in other cultures are replaced with specific references in the target language. This leads to really misleading impressions like implying that anyone in South Korea has heard of Oxford. Ivy League would be better, since it's actually referenced frequently locally, but just changing it to a generic reference would have been preferable in my opinion if you're going to assume English speakers would be too stupid to know what a SKY school is or be able to guess what that means in context. Like I could have headed off this entire conversation by making it a chemistry reference instead but that's not the first thing that pops into Korean people's minds when they see a get-up like that.

Today's 9CL reminds me of my birthday a lot.

It was today, and my mom made my birthday party all about her. How painful it was giving birth to me and my sisters, what the experience of giving birth was like. There were also really shallow, superficial comments about how horrible the holocaust was and gosh it was so horrible and wasn't it horrible?

That feels like the fate that will befall those poor kids. A fate where the most important things will always be putting their parent's wants, needs, and desires front and center.

In today's Corto Maltese: Well, for being a secretive sect, they're actually quite reasonable people, or Corto passes a message onto the Hermes lodge, which, thinking about it, is pretty poetically ironic, or 'I'm searching for the McGuffin of Solomon' - Corto

This works kinda as a joke, but man. Tink dad, dogs are easy to understand: has she been fed? No? Go feed her. Has she been out recently? No? Go walk her. Are her needs met? Then she wants to play, get up and throw a toy for her.

And if somehow that simple flowchart doesn't work, then it probably means there's something weird in the house and she'll take you to the trouble spot - my dog will let me know if there's a mouse in the kitchen, or if there's something suspicious outside. I guarantee that if he had free access to the outdoors he would get me if Timmy got stuck in the well, he's good at going "something is weird MOM COME HELP"

Assaulting a prisoner in custody who's being held indefinitely without trial and without any way to contact anyone in the outside world. The Phantom is just the bad guy in his own comic now. Probably has been for a while. I don't remember the last time he did something actually heroic.

Maybe Kit the younger will return from his secret Phantom training and have to defeat his own father, making Kit the elder realise that he's no longer fit to be the Phantom.

And then Heloise becomes the new Phantom somehow.
