i think that's basically the idea, though? civilization won't exist, but that doesn't mean the scattered humans left won't have weird passed-down echoes of what exists now. and marvel is ubiquitous enough and widely-seen enough that it's probably gonna end up being one of those echoes in some way.

This is going to be an insufferable movie to sit through. I feel like Eli has no handle on something this large, insane and spectacular. I guess his juvenile humor is in line with the games, but this is something that would need a George Miller/James Wan type of batshit blockbuster director to go well.

Hell, Michael Bay should have been a shoe in for this.

This feels right. Borderlands is annoying trash made by an rear end in a top hat who uses Alien game money to funnel into his meme trash game.

Surprisingly, I'd say that the Tales from the Borderlands series did some fun things with just about the right amount of dumb humor and only a few missteps. Ideally we could get something closer to that. Not optimistic though.

It's interesting to think of, but I really doubt that a single moment in a Marvel movie would somehow become legend. Marvel movies are ubiquitous, but they're also fairly disposable, and there's way too much of them. Sure Cap wielding Thor's Hammer is apparently important to Marvel people, but for it to become future important in the remnants of society, you have to have hours of build-up to it, and that just doesn't happen if you can't pop in the DVDs.

You're more likely to end up with "bazinga" becoming a greeting or the Soup Nazi as a fairy-tale teaching future children to be kind to strangers.

Mjolnir can only be wielded by those worthy enough. What worthy enough means is everyone's guess, usually means brave/courageous/righteous enough.

It's something about having to be super noble and Thor being the only one noble enough to pick it up. Otherwise Hulk could've picked it up at any point.

At one point , it was Odin's judgement of worthy(which was deffo a whole can of worms) but then it changed and is now the hammer itself who judges? Idk

I'm just waiting for Disney to inevitably make a copyright claim on some reprinting of the Prose Edda or whatever based on their hold of the rights to Marvel!Thor. After all, this is the same company who tried to copyright "Dia de los Muertos"
