lmao i was more than a little angry when our company was talking up how machine learning is so important to the company that all developers will be trained in it. the "training" consisted of a bunch of links to youtube videos talking about doing a linear regression like i'm back in precalc punching coordinates into a ti-84. one of the videos was from a some dude who had pivoted his account to ml topics after his last clout chasing attempt, being a male clickbait nofap channel, failed. the "extra credit project"was a video overview of a project that required google cloud (we are a competitor to google cloud and have no access to any of its services).

lol we got a lot of "you're all expected to become aws cloud practitionees!" last year but when I asked if we could access aws through the corp network the answer was a flat "no". I literally won an aws sponsored Hackathon at work in like 2019 and they gave our team 1000 usd of aws credits but then said "at this time we do not allow usage of aws internally",
