How recently was this? From a summer spent installing racks in 2007, there's a good chance the exchange was full and still waiting for all the 50V POTS poo poo to be ripped out to make way for more racks.

Iirc the plan was to put a small cabinet inside the exchange and connect the lines to the building to that, then the mini cabinet to the main exchange. You're probably right that the exchange was also full though!

GNU make has so many built-in rules and assumptions that if you have a C file hello.c, and type 'make hello', it will compile it even if you don't have a makefile.

i really dont like how smug that loving gnu looks actually i met a dude who had that exact expression all the time, except he was a windows user he wore a "rm -rf /bin/laden" shirt, which i barely even had a chance to notice before he told me and explained that it means "put osama bin laden into the recycle bin" while eating chips loudly i dont remember if i started explaining "n*xen" (lol remember that?) to him but i probably did, and was maybe equally insufferable but at least i was right
