my company just hands you N holidays and says "take whichever ones you want off" which is nice imo. Don't wanna do Columbus Day? Don't. Wanna take off for Arbor Day? go nuts.

I think we have 8 fixed and two "floating" holidays which are basically pto but you pick a different option in your time off system

i have spent the entire day today trying to train a pile of people nearly twice my age how to use Zoom. we got through "downloading the desktop app" and "scheduling a meeting" and "sending the link to participants" but bogged down in such advanced features as raising your hand, mass muting/unmuting and creating breakout rooms. i tried several times to teach them the real power-user "hold spacebar to temporarily unmute, like a radio PTT button" feature but woooooooosh

The only zoom feature I have ever used is mass mute, but its like once a call.

I'm going to be completely honest with my feelings here anybody that still voluntarily goes on a cruise in this hellworld, with this corona, and this global climate shift, and this unemployment, and this exploitation of brown people, deserves whatever they get on said cruise. And they should not be able to spread their idiot illness on others. thus i propose a government subsidy to bring all cruises down to $99 and mandatory 1 year quarantines on said megaboat.
