New furry idiots on social media. So, some background. Turns out there were like, at least 20-30 chuds on a discord. At least 10 names or so I can recall have been permanently banned from Furaffinity. Many of them have locked their twitters for being called out for being RAGING bigots. We're talking sexist, racist, transphobic, you get it. They've been melting down since the protests started because of course the chuds are gonna lose it. Years ago I left my car in an out-of-the-way parking lot with a bag on the back seat (great move, I know). I came back to find the window smashed in, the bag gone, and two cops just kinda wandering around the car (someone else had called them). I ask if I could have their names, so for insurance purpose I could say "Officer X and officer Y at Z station can verify what happened" and they literally replied "Hell no, it's a bother, we're not here to do you favours."

I've only had one interaction with police, and it was when I'd called 911 after witnessing an assault, on a crowded street in broad daylight. They showed up a minute before the ambulance, cleared a path, checked on the victim and cordoned off the area. They took everyone's statement, and told me to just go home, relax, try to shake it off, and then handed me a phone number and said I was entitled to six free hours of trauma counseling if I needed it. Later, I went to testify at the trial, and learned that the victim was a trans woman and I had witnessed a hate crime. I've no illusions that most encounters with the police go a lot worse, and I'm not sharing the story to defend them. I guess I'm just now realizing I've never actually shared it with anyone and it's a reminder to me why it's important to tell TERFs that they are the enemy every chance you get. Even cops do more good than they.
