Hence their slogan “It’s about ethics in games journalism”. Then Anita Sarkeesian successfully funded a “Tropes vs Women in Video games” series on her YouTube channel and some people thought they weren’t good enough for the money she was given. That’s basically everything I know about it. Basically it’s just misogynists being misogynist. Unsurprisingly the Venn diagram of Gamergaters and the Alt right is pretty much a circle. The funniest part about gamergate was Candace Owens building a doxing platform and Quinn telling her it was a bad idea. When poo poo started falling apart for Owens she blamed Quinn and became a Nazi.

Gamergate was literally started because Zoe Quinn allegedly cucked her ex. Ironically, gamergaters love throwing that term out like confetti. It’s like that butterfly meme of a 15-year-old motioning at a man loving his partner and saying “is this a simp?”, but that teenager is in his early 30s and still lives in his mom’s basement.
