I want a full-on Trek love triangle romance starring some Science department dorks. The Trek stuff is 100% a backdrop and it's a dead-serious romance between a geologist, a botanist, and a biologist cataloging samples on a beautiful, idyllic alien world. There's no hint of any danger or adventure, it's just three colleagues (maybe one of them is the immediate superior or field leader) working out their feelings. Only there's two things to differentiate it: 1. poo poo that would normally be a huge issue in other rom-coms like miscommunications or finances get cleared up right away thanks to Magic Technology and Space Socialism. Really sell the romance of living in a world where love and the joy of your work are at the forefront of life. 2. Using normal Trek conventions we get to see the romance eventually spiral out into really dark places. Replicated pheromones, holodeck creeping, illicit use of transporters to pop in unexpectedly, falsified records... the kind of stuff you'd expect young, hot, crazy people lusting after each other to do if they had access to those tools. By the end absolutely everyone has revealed themselves to be monsters trying to overengineer paradise to their own selfish ends.

I want to see a Starfleet Academy show set post-DS9. With modern SFX they could get real weird with the aliens (maybe we'd finally get to see that guy with the transparent skull Jadzia dated!) and the nature of the show would allow cameos from every era of Star Trek. Have a hologram of Michael Burnham show up to provide a primer on the Terran Empire/Mirror Universe! Have a hologram of Archer finally give that Founding of the Federation speech! Throughout it all, you'd have these characters you're following being shown to internalize and understand why Starfleet and the Federation are important and what being a better version of ourselves really means. On the other end of the spectrum, a show set during the Earth-Romulan War would have the possibility of being really awesome.

I want to believe for positivity's sake but isn't it a bit hard to generate a series when you canonically can't show the antagonists' faces, but any audience member willing to do a little legwork knows exactly who they are and what they're about? I know people really like balance of terror, but yeah I think that you would ultimately have to show them. But I think you could still make it work

I mean, just because I worked in TV doesn't make me a writer I imagine you could show the Romulans to the audience, and I'm pretty sure some of the Vulcans, at least, knew drat well who the Romulans were. I suppose it would have to be part of a larger "Formation of the Federation" show (you know, what Enterprise should've been).

Another thing I always wanted to see- the Eugenics war of 1997. Be bold about it, actually set it in 1997, just do like a Fallout thing where you directly tell the audience the timeline has shot off from reality, probably in 1986 when the time-traveling enterprise crew just flat-out handed future tech to human engineers. Maybe transparent aluminum was the missing piece to making Khan. Scotty wanted to save some whales but inadvertently caused SuperCrispr or whatever, we see society crumbling in what is supposed to be World War III, which finally ends in the terse trial that settles on the Botany Bay answer instead of just executing all the augments, and there are people saying "well what if they come back? What if somebody finds them???". And all that's left of pre-warp human culture is dispersed forest bands like Zefram Cochrane and his rocketeers. Too bad that second NuTrek movie ruined all of that, oh well!

in my latest trek dream federation tech has progressed enough that work consoles don't become claymore mines and catastrophically explode whenever the ship takes damage and maybe the crew isn't threatened with total warp core breaches quite so often just some quality of life advancements to show the setting is progressing

Due to being a smaller ship and having numerous encounters with the Maquis, they are ordered for a debriefing and sent to a remote station. Upon arriving the crew begins to suspect the station crew they are being debriefed by may themselves be Maquis sympathizers or cover agents. As the situation becomes more critical and worrying the crew attempt to devise ways to covertly reach the federation to warn them. After their early attempts are thwarted, and the station becomes more explicit in trying to convert them to the Maquis cause, the crew realize they must risk a direct action and that likely their conversations are being monitored so they cannot even discuss further with each other, having to merely trust each member of the crew is loyal and will do their part. Ultimately, their final attempt at overthrowing the station is defeated and, to the crews meloncholy joy, one by one all five are dragged into a single chamber to spend their last moments together before being executed by the stations staff. The crew sings the anthem of the federation as the airlock opens jettisoning them to their deaths. The crew then awaken in the holodeck, informed by their debriefing crew they have passed, and were a little more on-key with their singing this time.

I want a series based on alternate-universe where harry kim didn't get assigned to voyager and instead just pitches lame shuttlecraft designs with his business partner its kinda a silicon valley like show where they keep bouncing off the politics of star fleet engineering and its hosed up engineer personalities and corrupt admirals , things keep getting worse and worse for harry as competing designs win out for political reasons ( wait, they're going for the design that splits into THREE ships? How dumb are they? )

The crew must race against time to rescue an artist trapped inside a holosuite who uses it to create their art. They are considered an absolute master by the Ferengi and the federation use the artists art as a cultural exchange bit of soft power. The A plot is attempting to free them and the B plot revolves around investigating the sabotage. At the shows end, out of time, the crew resorts to the final emergency option which will likely leave the artist with junk information from the simulation permanently in their mind, dulling their creative output. Simultaneously, they learn the saboteur was a fellow human artist who felt they could be next chosen if the other artist was out of the way. During the closing debrief, it is revealed that the artists experience left them unable to make art that appealed to the Ferengi, but the subtlety they can now achieve in their work is so moving it is the first human artwork to cause Romulans to weep at its beauty meaning the artist still has a long career ahead of them for cultural exchange.

My dream Trek has a ship exploring strange new worlds and lost civilizations. It's crewmembers are friends who are able to argue and joke with each other. They visit defunct civilizations that were brought down by things like unrepentant bigotry, blind faith in false gods, the pursuit of unsustainable pleasure over the survival of the planet. They meet bizarre, inscrutable aliens whose encounters challenge their ideals. At the end of the episode, the crewmembers get to talk about how these encounters affected them. Perhaps they faltered from their ideals. Perhaps they looked into the abss and blinked. However, the camaraderie they have with each other pulls them back from the brink, and helps them heal and become better than they were before. I want a Trek where my characters are heroes who beat challenges by being good people, not antiheroes who defeat the villain of the week by becoming worse.
