No. I've been on an Uwe Boll kick lately - which means I've been watching youtube videos about him and his films. He is not nearly as vile as lowtax and isn't quite as terrible a filmaker as people say but... I don't think we want him around here. This guy did a video laughing at his letterboxd reviews. Uwe's letterboxd page was taken down shortly after. Probably because they were full of misspelled slurs and attacks on other actors and directors. He's basically a textbook internet troll. I was actually thinking about watching some of his films because quite a few are up on Amazon Prime. I was browsing through the list and I noticed he has made one called 'Darfur'. I'm struggling trying to think why he thought he was the guy that could handle such a sensitive topic. My friend's dad threatened to kill himself if my friend's mom left him. She did, and so he did. Jump forward 30 years and my friend was in an abusive relationship and guess what his abuser threatened to do, which ended up locking him in that relationship for longer. My point is that poo poo hurts people other than him, it's a form of continuing abuse and it's kind of the ultimate version of someone arguing in bad faith making their point again and then saying "but I'm dropping it" so they get the last word. I want him to end up having to work in lovely tech support and sell the McMansion and car and move into a lovely apartment. I want the courts to find out he was making six figures and hiding it, and having to pay back child support. I want him to be obscure and miserable. I don't want him or anyone else to kill themselves. Other people don't think that's a risk, that's good and I hope you're right but this kind of public downward spiral poo poo always makes me nervous.
