I'm pretty ok with it, trump has been flailing for several weeks and seems direction less while Harris keeps hitting swing states and doing alright. I'm concerned an unexpected shift in the narrative back to trump where he could claim victimhood and dominate the headlines for weeks would be worth the risk. I mean no way he would go to jail pre-election but endless appeals and false countdowns would get a lot of eyeballs and make it harder for Harris to fire up her base. Kinda like if a starting quarterback has thrown three picks before halftime and is pushing his coach on the sideline. You hope he keeps it up and doesn't put in a bright new rookie with something to prove.

almost certainly earnest, trump people ran his daughter out of politics and he's a legacy of the old business republicans, who have similarly been run out of mainstream republican politics. doesn't really amount to much of anything because no one really gives a gently caress about dick cheney in 2024, ofc

Cheney is a pretty big part of the reason the world sucks so much these days so while his endorsement is cool I think his message should’ve been something other than calling Trump bad for the country. E: unless he directly compared it to how bad he was.

Crab Dad posted:He’s a small child being told by a friend about racial slurs that sound innocent if you didn’t know the background. Yeah I was gonna say, in plenty of areas in the South saying 'that's a *wink* democrat *wink* part of town' is another way to say 'that's a majority black area (so don't go there or obviously you'll get robbed/murdered/etc)' without sounding quite as racist to outsiders. Calling it the 'democrat party' is definitely an allusion to the idea that only black people in the South vote for democrats.
