I’m very happy I picked up that complete collection a few years ago of the classic and sequels.

Again. He can just straight up say no, to EVERYTHING, again, and let the country burn/flood/die to covid/starve/be evicted while the judiciary guts and flays the country for him to serve up on a platter to his billionaires.

I think/hope that Trump not having a clear enough lead on election night has derailed any plan to meaningfully contest the results. It’d be a different story if we saw a Trump blowout yesterday that got eroded by mail-in counts.

Anyone play Close Combat: A Bridge Too Far? Still my favorite WWII game, incredibly tense fights and one of the first times I played a game that had decent realism. Educational to see how British PIATs barely worked while nearly every German unit could wreck armor with panzerfausts. Thrilling when your anti-tank unit is down to their last rocket and takes out a King Tiger then the AI instantly concedes the map. Also was cool to see the morale system where five wounded guys who just bailed out of a tank are only interested in running away and will ignore orders to charge a house with their knives. Was also fun to poke around the huge amount of video files. In a pre-YouTube era it was cool to see footage of Stuart tanks cruising down roads.

About the the only issue I have is a can't sound to work on dosbox, but much like Steel Panthers II it's so good (also in small wars* and Nato/Pact) that any defects are worth getting past. I still have the original discs for the main game and expansion. See if you can find one of the community scenario packs that used to be on the Yahoo group, stuffed to the gills. I can see how it would be a great way to teach aspects of battles. I just loved all the obscure battles and hypothetical ones that engine could spit out. Hell yeah I shelled and took forts in Korea as the US! *Even fake ones with lore based on Red Dawn!

I saw a lot of people saying Trump would claim victory at the first sign of his lead and stop vote counting immediately. The first part kind of happened, but fizzled. Then he tried to claim that the additional vote counts were irregular, but that’s fizzling too because they’re not out of line with any demographic trends. Trump could still try something, but we’re not getting the big Election Day drama that goons and right wingers were counting on.
