DEER CRACKERS

quote:

On a Tuesday morning in late October, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was in Brentwood at the 5,900-square-foot home he purchased for $6.6 million in 2021 with his wife, the actress Cheryl Hines of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Shaded by sycamore and fruit trees, the pad has six bedrooms, a backyard tiki bar, a pool with a waterfall, private security hovering at the gate (more on that later), and, parked out front, a Toyota minivan that he calls “the dog car” on account of its being unsuitable for passengers of any other species.

Bobby, as he’s known to friends, walked through the French doors dressed for his morning hike in blue jeans, a black hoodie, Keens, and an unfriendly expression. He said little as he led his three enormous canines to the van, though I don’t know what he could have said that would have prepared me for the sight of the thing. That the dog car survived a nuclear war maybe, or, even more frightening, the chicken-pox vaccine.

Rearview mirror smashed to bits, seat belts chewed off, cushions gnawed open, filth and dog hair covering every surface. The death machine smells so bad I thought I might pass out after about 15 seconds riding shotgun, and that was before the candidate hung a sharp left and sped off toward the trailhead, the dogs barking and toppling over in the area of the car that theoretically should contain back seats but instead holds a wooden bench. “Shut up, you idiots!” he told the dogs. At least I think he was talking to them. He swung the vehicle around to park on the side of the road, released the hounds, and started his ascent.

Greens aren't going to be on the Nevada ballot, despite being defended at the Supreme Court by one of Trump's lawyers.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/supreme-court/supreme-court-rejects-green-party-bid-appear-nevada-presidential-ballo-rcna171745

quote:

The Supreme Court on Friday rejected Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein’s last-ditch request to be included on the ballot in Nevada, a key swing state.

The court in a brief unsigned order left in place a decision by the Nevada Supreme Court that blocked Stein from appearing on the ballot over a dispute concerning whether the Green Party had submitted the correct paperwork.

Jay Sekulow, an ally of former President Donald Trump, represented the Green Party. In swing states in particular, third-party candidates can be crucial to the outcome, with the Green Party potentially winning some votes that would otherwise go to the Democratic nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris.

In Nevada, which is expected to be closely contested, the Democrats sued to ensure Stein was not on the ballot.

Ranked choice voting would fix the problem (while allowing third parties to be something more than protest votes), but good luck getting that rolled out to all 50 states.

This is completely hosed and stupid, but nobody involved is being very clear about what it actually is!

The idea here isn't about counting the votes, but counting the number of ballots issued by workers with the number of ballots in the tabulator. It's incredibly stupid to do because the tabulator counts better than humans do and there's no recourse anyways if the numbers don't match. Which is kinda the point: they're fishing for a reason to throw out an election (they can't) if somehow the numbers don't match.

In my precinct (different state), you check in with a voting application, you get a voter number (#69) and ballot number (#71 because of fuckups). You turn in that application right before you feed the tabulator the ballot. We had like 300 total voters come through at the end of the night. So these chucklefucks want to go HAHA WE ONLY SHOW 299 BALLOTS AND #71 IS MISSING IN THE TABULATOR ELECTION INVALID when that voter could've just waltzed off without us being to check. Precincts constantly mismatch by one or two and the Georgia chucklefucks want to use that as an excuse to invalidate the election because Donnie said so.
